In 2012, for what I believe was the first time, Exclaim! compiled all of their various genre lists into an overarching Top 50 Albums of the Year list, and that was what I added to the spreadsheet. I'll assume (hope) they're doing the same thing this year, and wait for that list. Thanks!

It doesn't look like Exclaim! is going to do a combined top 50 list again this year. In addition to the top 20 pop/rock list posted above, the rest of their top albums lists by genre are below. 70 albums in all.

Henrik, what should the row 3 value be for these? In 2011, I put all the Exclaim! data into a single column, and you assigned a row 3 value of 31 (the pop/rock list had 30 entries that year).

TOP 10 COUNTRY, FOLK & BLUES:
1. Daniel Romano - Come Cry With Me
2. The Sadies - Internal Sounds
3. Neko Case - The Worse Things Get, the Harder I Fight, the Harder I Fight, the More I Love You

5. The Deep Dark Woods - Jubilee
6. Laura Marling - Once I Was an Eagle
7. The Milk Carton Kids - The Ash & Clay

10. Lee Harvey Osmond - The Folk Sinner

I went back to the old AM forum to see your rationale for the 31 value in 2011. Here it is, as a reminder:
"My suggestion is to take a number as close as possible to the length of the lists. This is because most of the lists end before 20 and since the scale is skewed the difference in score between, say 20 and 30, is actually bigger than the difference in score between 120 and 150, which would have been used if it was one long list. However, I suggest 31 as it should of course not be a disadvantage to be in the top 30 list."

The 2011 genre lists were rather haphazard outside of the pop/rock top 30 - one was 18 albums long, another 16, etc. This year's lists are much cleaner - all top 10s except for the P/R top 20. Please let me know what the value should be so I can add the lists. Thanks!

Sorry for not getting back to you until now, Harold. I think I would go with 21 (at least one number higher than the last pop/rock album, and close to twice the last album of the other genres).
