✅ Roadie Crew: 200 real hymns of heavy metal & classic rock you must hear before you die (2011)

Post by Pierre »

Because I'm always looking for albums lists I just tend to miss songs lists I'm passing right by. And tracing back my steps, I just ran into this one:

http://www.roadiecrew.com/edicaoDetalhe.php?id=146

And found it here:

https://plus.google.com/102379614723333 ... 6xfwtgaZvP

For the record: in Portuguese, "200 verdadeiros hinos do heavy metal & classic rock que você tem que ouvir antes de morrer". It's always confusing to see more classic rock in lists from Roadie Crew since they're supposed to be a heavy metal outlet, but whatever.

Pretty good list for the most part. Mostly gonna help propel some of the classic rock standards forward. Blue Cheer is overrated.

Also: putting aside the fact that of friggin' course he's here again, who would actually say that you haven't lived a full, happy life without hearing a Ted Nugent song?

Fair enough. Also: love how Nugent shows up but there's diddly-squat for the Sex Pistols or the Clash.

A bit late, but I feel I should point out since I was an avid reader of this magazine: by the time they published that list, they had already diversified their coverage to include classic rock as well, because a lot of their staff and readers were also fans of classic rock, and because of the overlap with classic bands such as Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple.
BTW, I have another list from them which I'll be posting shortly.

On another note, I like Ted Nugent, but as a musician, not as a person.

Oh, and also, "anthems" would be a better translation than "hymns" I think.
