Sorry, didn't realise it was set to restricted access, it should be open to everyone if you try again now...

A well-deserving #1.

This list reminds me that I haven't played any Final Fantasy games yet. Maybe I'll play Final Fantasy VII sometime this year if I have time.

I laughed out loud when I saw how many consoles were listed for Resident Evil 4, that game is eternal.

Fantastic rollout Mileswide, thanks for doing this!

Thanks mileswide. Final Fantasy 7 had more top 10 votes, so that had a lot to do with my guess. I played FF7 late in the day, and that might actually be the last game that I've beaten. I've played 10 hours maybe of Chrono Trigger, a decent chunk of Resident Evil 4 (including on two different consoles ), and a lot of Mario 64. Mario World was from "my era," so I know that one very well. I've played only a tiny amount of Ocarina or Majora; I suppose I've never given those games a fair shake. I love Halo as a 3D game, for instance, but I usually balked when new installments of old properties went from to 2D to 3D. My wife is actually the resident Zelda superfan around here, so I've kind of vicariously experienced the newer installments through her. I think we only get new consoles because of new Zelda games.

I think I've been praying at the altar of Pokémon Go for too long, and I need to play some of these other games.

Sorry I forgot to vote. Here's roughly the list I would have given:

Final Fantasy Tactics
Xenogears
Super Mario Bros 3
Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne
Zelda: Link To The Past
Final Fantasy VI
Super Mario Galaxy
Persona 5
Celeste
Mass Effect 2
Catherine
Super Metroid
Hollow Knight
Mario 64
Mass Effect 3
Mass Effect
Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga
13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim
Valkyrie Profile

So I beat 49 of the top 100 game, played 22 more and haven't played 29 of them.

I used a broad definition of "beat" : for RPG or platformers, it is very simple, did I see the ending or not. So for instance, even if I have played quite a lot of Final Fantasy VI and X, I never beat the final boss so it doesn't count !
For others it's a bit more blurry... for fighting games for instance, I don't think getting to the ending once with any characters in any difficulty would have been enough, but I don't think you need to beat it with all characters in the hardest difficulty either... let's just say I played Street Fighter II or all Smash Bros games enough to get decent and see most of what the game has to offer.
For a similar reason I considered I didn't beat Age of Empires II or Civ V despite winning a few games in each, but I'd consider without a doubt I have "beat" Civilization VI (I won a handful of games on deity and played with at least 2/3 of the civs).
I beat every Guitar Hero 2 songs in expert, but not all Rock Band songs with all instruments... but still, I have spent hours on it so it counts !
Defining if you have "beat" Pokemon Go or Tetris is an even more meaningless thing, but still, I tried!

Among the games I never played :
some are a bit surprising, especially Donkey Kong Country 3 given that I have the other 2 very high in my list.
Several I really regret not playing when they came out but am not sure I'd go back to now (Silent Hill 2, the GTAs before the 5th...)
A few are due to not having the hardware (the P2/PS3 games mainly)
And I still have never played a Metal Gear game for some reason...
At least one I have had on my computer for ages but still somehow haven't played (Half-Life 2, despite loving the first one and both Portal games... so I don't have the slightest doubt it is a fantastic game that probably aged well)
All in all, the one I regret the most not playing is Symphony of the Night, there aren't much port I'd love as much as seeing it on Switch.

There are 34 games in the top 100 that I've either beaten, or played enough of to consider having sufficiently experienced (for instance, I've never done the story mode to Goldeneye, but I've played enough multi-player to where I'm comfortable counting it in the "sufficiently experienced" column).

Mass Effect 3
Mass Effect

Presuming these are in descending order, here's how your choices would have landed:

Mario 64 - unchanged at #2 (506.972 points)
Link to the Past - #8, moving from 4th highest Zelda to 2nd (355.244)
Super Mario Bros. 3 - #13, moving from 4th highest Mario platformer to 3rd (339.304)
Super Metroid - #25 (271.706)
Persona 5 - #27, moving from 2nd highest Persona game to top (265.045)
FFVI - #28 (263.651)
Mass Effect 2 - #34 (233.810)
Celeste - #41 (214.732)
Super Mario Galaxy - #43, moving from 7th highest Mario platformer to 6th (213.344)
Hollow Knight - #76 (131.436)
Mass Effect 3 - #102 (111.909)
SMT: Nocturne - #105 (110.793)
Mass Effect - #112 (107.561)

If you're willing to host, I'd participate, I've played a lot of new games since I made my last list.
