It doesn't seem like a popularity has had anything to do with the choices though, so I think it could be included.Each year, the Australian public nominates new sounds to be added with final selections determined by a panel of industry experts.

Also, some odd selections - "It's a Long Way to the Top" wouldn't have been my first choice for a significant AC/DC recording (either Back in Black or Highway to Hell or both), and there's no Bee Gees. But at least some underrated bands like Divinyls and Midnight Oil get spots.
