Not bad.
I will have put five star to Controversy and Come, four for Crystal Ball but only three to Love Symbol. Except that, we are almost agree for all.

I don't think acts' albums lists have been included at AM?

I didn't realize he had so many albums (even considering ones that weren't traditional releases).

Agree with you on Controversy. Never listened to Come. What is special about it for you to give it a five out of curiosity?

Alright, what's up with Controversy? I listened to it a long time ago and I didn't like it much except for the classic three songs on it (Controversy, Sexuality, Do Me Baby). I feel like an outsider for not liking it enough. Can someone help me understand what's so great about it?

For me, Controversy and Dirty Mind have exactly the same production, style and quality of songs. All the songs by these two albums are excellent. It's a perfect double album ;-) I always listen the first and the second after.
You are talking about three classics on Controversy but I did not know they were regarded as classics, the others songs are as good as these three first songs.

For Come, like Controversy, it's a perfect album (almost, I didn't like only one song) which came out after Love symbol, my first deception by Prince (beacause mostly of the Rap Songs). Come, like Controversy is an extension of Dirty Mind, is an extension of Diamonds and Pearls, which I love hugely. Come, Pheromone, Letitgo and, chiefly, Papa are incredible songs. Two excellent pop albums.

But as usual, they are albums I listened with my two big brothers for years, when I'm young, so I'm biased ... but the music should not be assessed objectively, so no matter ;-) If you don't like... you don't like...it's no important.

For both of you, you can maybe like a lot Love Symbol and The Gold Experience, which are albums that I appreciate moderately.

Thanks for this. I am definitely going to listen to Come and Diamonds and Pearls. The albums that I have listened to from Prince are his essential 80s albums + The Black Album, The Hits and The Love Symbol.

Henrik- I'm bumping this, as it pertains to a general question- artist album lists, ranked, aren't eligible for AM? A possible reason for exclusion could be that, in most cases, the lists aren't as lengthy as songs lists.

I actually included this right away when it was posted, as it includes over 30 albums (the required limit for songs). For now the same rule applies to albums, but if there will be similar lists of other artists with fewer albums, I might reconsider it.

Most acts haven't- or won't- release 30+ studio albums, though (Prince was crazy prolific- a notable exception), so I'm not sure if they should be treated the same. As you can imagine, I've come across some Madonna Albums Ranked lists, some with fewer than 13, some with 13 and some with 14 and 15 (as some include 1990's concept album I'm Breathless- The Telegraph list even includes The Immaculate Collection). Some look to be collaborative, while others do not (as is the case with other types of lists, of course).

While I don't think the requirement should be as low as 10, maybe "lucky" 13 would be a good number in this case.

I will add the Prince list to the albums post in the summary thread.

Well, as I said, not all the M lists are collaborative, so it wouldn't be a total onslaught of lists for her. ;)

So, uh...I know I'm usually not the biggest fan of bringing up long-dead threads, but I casually saw this as I was scrolling through the AM lists section...how many single-artist album lists are eligible by that token?
