Very interesting - I could've sworn as I started writing it that "Iron Fist" was placed in the mid-70s, but then I refresh the page and it's jumped all the way up to #1! Maybe it's just 'cuz I haven't heard the song yet that I'm more surprised seeing it on top than in the middle (especially when the three songs immediately preceding are usual the major candidates to top a list of this kind), but Rob Sheffield has never been afraid of toeing the critical line through a list until he hits #1, and even here some placements aren't as obvious as you might think.
