Shinichi Atobe - Heat

This is missing in the 2018 section

Oh, and I copiled three electronic albums lists of the decade, namely DJ MAG, MIXMAG & RESIDENT ADVISOR. Have a look at the spreadsheet and let me know what you think. Is there any other publications I could add...?

Zoinks! Thanks very much for pointing that out, that website was not an easy one to load up and stick around with the amount of computer freezing it comes with and the list being unranked and spread apart certainly made keeping tracks harder. :angry-banghead:

I checked the spreadsheet and I got quite giddy with it. It's a very exciting scoreboard for the electronics and also highlights how the three of these list have a handful of albums in common. Although just slightly confused at the part were some albums earned 1,000 point both from DJ Mag and Resident Advisor but still remain with 1,000 in total, I couldn't quite work that bit out.

I got 2 question: 1. What was the strategy for the albums that managed to earn a singular 2,000 points in the Resident Advisor section and 2. How well do you think the albums with 4,000 points will do in the next update? Do reckon 4,000 points is enough for Sophie to prevent Cardi B from getting past her in the 2018 album list?

Lastly, any other publication you ask? I think this one from Billboard is a brilliant companion: https://www.billboard.com/articles/news ... 0s-top-40/

Thanks Cicice for your encouraging feedback! I checked the spreadlist and realized that some calculations were wrong :?
Sorry about that!
I will thus include the new spreadsheet in this reply and delete the previous one. Oh, and I added an extra Top 69 overall list for fun. As you noticed they are ranked by points order and then by alphabetical order of the artists' names. Concerning the choices, well, I focused on these 3 major publications to make things simpler. BILLBOARD has got a more EDM focused list. What astonished me the most is to see no trace whatsoever of RANDOM ACCESS MEMORIES for example or other critic's favourites. I suggest you a few other lists that are mentionning all these missing albums. The REDDIT list was voted froms thousands of fans around the globe and is quite authoritative.

Cheers O.M and thanks for the pun based on a 90s throwback ;) I'll find the time to check them out within this week and shall feed you right back, sounds fun to me too. I'm amazed Random Access Memories didn't make it either - whenever I see many other decade or electronic dance list, Random Access Memories and This Is Happening always makes the most frequent entry, their like the 2010s siamese bum buddies together, the secondary most entrance I'm noticing are the two evil electric-sisters: Body Talk and Visions.

In my opinion for the next update, I think This Is Happening has a chance of cracking in the 2010s Top 10 or sitting outside #11, heck it might even nick the 2nd spot from The Suburbs in 2010 whilst Random Access Memories will end up in the mid or the higher Top 15.

The Guettapen was alright, I did like the chosen albums from Dirty South and Hot Natured.

The EDMTunes was not too different from the Guettapen with the inclusion of David Guetta, Calvin Harris, Daft Punk, Above & Beyond, Nero, Avicii and Porter Robinson with only 20 albums. But it's still decent.

This decades R&B or Hip Hop has not been my absolute favourite, I like some of these album by Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, FKA Twigs and Run The Jewels. Not a fan of Frank Ocean or Chance The Rapper's "Acid Rap" so far. The album I think that should have entered more on an R&B and Hip Hop kind of list is Azealia Banks' "Broke With Expensive Taste" or maybe "1991" if EP counts like FKA Twigs' "M3LL55X". Azealia's just got the big wordplay lyrics and tremendous bars to ride with.

I like the Dancing Astronaut list although it reminds me of the Guettapen and EDMTunes blended with Billboards Dance Album Of The Decades list. So I don't really have much to say except Dancing Astronaut contains better written review descriptions of each album picks then EDMTunes.

WeRaveYou looks just like the first two list, Guettapen and EDMTunes. Review wise too, no further comments on this one.

For both of the Billboard list, it occurred to me that this was the first list to include a Four Tet album, it got me thinking of New Energy which I think is Four Tet's most accessible this decade. Is Lady Gaga's "Fame" album really a 2010s album? Cause even when The Fame Monster got reissued, wasn't it still in 2009? Still liked that ArtPop was included, that album was pretty much covered with many EDM breakdowns. Don't understand the inclusion of Now Workouts 2017 compilation, replace it with "When We On" by Crazy P or "Shakedown 3" by Freemasons and we're good with the top 40.

I saw the Reddit list recently before and I think it was a brilliant list. Very surprise Thom Yorke's "Anima" made it, it had only less than 6 months to be absorbed before the decade was up.

Lastly, the spreadsheet was brilliant. I didn't realized how much ahead "LP1" was given that it wasn't really much of a dance or your usual downtempo chillout album. You can't really feel sorry for the lack of inclusion of Daft Punk and LCD Soundsystem from these list, given that they have and will frequently appear in many other lists. This gives albums like Todd Terje, Mount Kimbie or The Bug a chance to make some deserving appearance. I'm surprise Arca's "Entranas" made no decade appearance in any decade list, I thought it was a lot more progressive than the self titled "Arca" despite being only 25 minutes short. :greetings-waveyellow:
