Pixinguinha did record that song but not in 1917, it was in 1928 with his band Orquestra Típica Pixinguinha-Donga. I reviewed 3 different sources including his official website:Henrik wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 6:42 amYes, it seems it wasn’t released as a record.ArcadeFire wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 3:22 am Pixinguinha - Carinhoso is on the songs spreadsheet, but not the site. "Polêmicas à parte, o fato é que a primeira gravação de “Carinhoso”, ainda em formato instrumental, foi realizada em 1928 pela Orquestra Típica Pixinguinha-Donga em disco Parlophon n. 12.877-B."
https://pixinguinha.com.br/discografia/carinhoso-2/
https://www.revistaprosaversoearte.com/ ... -100-anos/

Hi Henrik! The link for Antònia Font is broken. It wants to send me to http://www.acclaimedmusic.net/artist/Antònia%20Font.htm
I'm updating all my music files on my computer to be in accordance with this new update, so I'm going through artist by artist (because I use my time wisely, obviously). I'll let you know if there are other broken links. All the best!

The song of Robert Wyatt's ROCK BOTTOM' is "ALIFIE", which is the name of his wife. Astonishingly, it is wrongly spelt on SPOTIFY too. Apart from that, the site with its ending in 2019 reaches a kind of perfection. Thank you so much Henrik for this. Truly wonderful site!
Re: Errors in the 2020 update
As far as I can tell, these songs came out a year later than AM states.
Mumford & Sons - Little Lion Man - 2008 (2009)
Clara Ward - How I Got Over - 1950 (1951)
Anyone have any information indicating otherwise?

Sorry o.m. but this is not a mistake. The name of Wyatt's wife is Alfreda "Alfie" Benge and there are two songs named as a wordplay on Alfie's name, "Alifib" and "Alife." Or at least it appears like that on my CD copy (it also appears like that in discogs).o.m. wrote: ↑Thu Dec 03, 2020 9:23 am The song of Robert Wyatt's ROCK BOTTOM' is "ALIFIE", which is the name of his wife. The original vinyl release apparently says "Alifie", which was later fixed:
I don't know how things like these are typically dealt with, but that's the information I could gather.
Or maybe it's on purpose, so it matches "Alifib" above it.

Re: Errors in the 2020 update
Well, maybe you're right. I've checked discogs again and the song is named "Alife" on the back cover but "Alifie" on vinyl.
I checked again my CD copy and appears as "Alife" several times, including in the booklet. But in discogs there are others CD reissues when the song is named "Alifie." So probably "Alifie" is correct, I'm not sure.
Anyway I've always thought that it was a beautiful homage to his wife, including the word "Life" as part of her name, as a way of thanking her for her support during the difficult days Robert faced then (after the accident that left him paraplegic).

Also, if I'm allowing myself to be a bit pedantic again: Preis der Deutschen Schallplatten Kritik - Price of the Year contains a grammatical error and should be written as Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik - Price of the Year.
By the way: Is the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik still eligible as an EOY list? They still give out these awards, but I haven't seen them in the EOY forums in the last few years.

Ah. I see RYM lists it being a little longer, but I can't find a different version, so 2008 seems right. What about How I Got Over?
Also, I just noticed in the history section that there is no #7220. I see on the main songs list that it should be Bros by Wolf Alice.
Bros is great by the way, my favorite new discovery so far from this update.
I also noticed there are two #7447s with artists that have very similar names (Sham 69 and The Shamen). Is Move Any Mountain's inclusion a mistake?

Apologies if I've missed something, but am I right to think the latest Pitchfork list of best 80's albums wasn't included in the update? Just checked out Paid In Full on the website and didn't see its Pitchfork placement listed, after which I confirmed it indeed appeared on their list at 11. Then I checked Purple Rain on the website and saw its new Pitchfork rank wasn't listed either.

Yes, I just updated the info on the album and song pages, without updating the ranking. The effect of those listings will take place in the next update. However, Stressed Out was near the bottom of a list where all songs were included that fit the criteria (Every Alternative Rock No. 1 Hit). This will not help that song’s ranking.

At least it will help a bit, I have faith in TOP. After adding the all time lists to the database, They may have 2 or 3 more songs as a bubbler on AM and Stressed Out might even enter the top 10000!

Heya Henrik - just a logistical question, as to why Cardi B is alphabetically listed under 'B' rather than 'C'? Seems odd to me since a lot of the 'Lil' and 'Little' artists are all uniformly filed under 'L,' the same logic would apply to list her under 'C.'
Sorry if that's been answered else! Mostly curious ^_^
EDIT: Actually, curious about Miike Snow too, listed under 'S.' Is there a logical wrap to all this? Haha.

Re: Errors in the 2020 update
As always thank you for your hard work and another update. As I am updating my musical files to coincide with the 2020 update, I would like to highlight a few errors I noticed. I will post any possible errors that I detect in this post.
I noticed that a lot of the Robert Johnson songs are listed under the year recorded rather than the year released. Multiple sites (Wikipedia and RYM, etc.) agree that "Cross Road Blues," "Sweet Home Chicago," and "Terraplane Blues" and "Come on in My Kitchen" should be in 1937. "Love in Vain" should be in 1939 (it was a posthumous release).
"Drinkin' Wine Spo-Dee-O-Dee" should be listed in 1949. The song was on the R&B charts in the spring of 1949.
"Witchcraft," the Sinatra track, was released in December 1957 (as noted on RYM). Speaking of Sinatra, "The Lady is a Tramp" (Capitol Records Version) came out originally in 1957. It was on the Pal Joey soundtrack, which was released in October, according to RYM.
"Night Time is the Right Time" should be in 1958. RYM has it in 1958. It charted on the R&B charts on 1/5/1959, which means it had to be commercially available in 1958.
"Baby Don't Go" was released in fall of 1964. It became a hit in 1965 when it was re-released to piggyback off of "I Got You Babe," but it came out in 1964.
"Hanky Panky" was originally released in 1963. So says Joel Whitburn and RYM.
"Oh Not My Baby" also came out in the fall of 1964. It made the R&B charts by mid-October.
The original version of "I'm Still in Love" by Alton Ellis was from 1967. RYM notes as much (although you have to click on list all singles to see it). Perhaps the 1977 is considered the more acclaimed version. Don’t much about Ellis.
RYM lists "No Time" by the Guess Who in 1969 (which is correct, "No Time" broke into the Billboard Hot 100 in December).
According to RYM, "Pressure Drop" came out in 1970, so did Murray Head's "Superstar."
"Blue Money" should be in 1970. It was first released in the fall of 1970 on the LP His Band and the Street Choir.
Kate & Anna McGarrigle's first album is a bit of a mystery. Some sources have it in January 1976. Others have it in late 1975. Currently, AM has the album in 1975, but it has two songs from the LP in 1976. Either the album should be in 1976 (and all songs aside from "Complainte pour Ste. Catherine" should be in 1976) or the LP and songs should be in 1975.
Steve Martin's "King Tut" came out in 1978. RYM concurs.
"Saturday Love" should be in 1985. It was part of Cherrelle's 1985 LP High Priority. RYM and Wikipedia both have the album released in October 1985.
"I Want Her" by Keith Sweat should be in 1987. Wikipedia is correct. RYM is wrong. The Song broke onto the Billboard R&B charts on 11/14/1987.
"Money Don't Matter 2 Night" was released in 1991. It was on the Diamonds and Pearls LP.
"Brian Wilson" and "If I had.." were both released in 1992. They were on the group's debut album, Gordon.
"No No No" by Destiny's Child should be in 1997. It broke onto the R&B charts in November of 1997. RYM and Wikipedia concur.
"Thank You" by Dido was first released in April 1998. It was on the Sliding Doors Soundtrack.
‘Lapdance” should be in 2001. RYM has it in that year. That was the year its album was released. And it was also on a soundtrack from 2001.
"Ignition" should be in 2002. It broke into the Billboard Top 100 in November of 2002.
"Hey There Delinah" was released on a 2005 LP named All That We Needed. RYM has it in 2005.
I am done editing, having gone through all my audio files, which constitutes over 66% of the AM Top 10,000.
