The aim of this poll is to introduce some favorites of the current year to other members and I wanted to reflect that in the presentation. You will find the usual information (artist, title, fans) but also the genre (according to RYM) and the length of the album. I will also present every album that received at least one vote.

I've listened to six of the albums from the Top 10 and I'll listen to the other four to not be completely removed from current proceedings (though I'm pretty sure I'll dislike Jubilee).

It will surely have staying power; the question is more if better albums come out.

I think the first half of the year was pretty slow in terms of major releases, which I'm hoping was due to COVID. I would bet something from the second half beats it. Either way, it's clear the trend of the first half of the year was big releases from long-hyped UK post-punk/experimental rock/whatever bands, and I think that will broadly hold up when looking at the whole year.

Schüttelbirne, I was surprised by how much I liked Jubilee, so I hope your experience is the same.

I reckon, if anything, the BCNR album will grow in stature for those who already love it. The main minus point amongst the converted at the time of its release was the fact that we'd already heard half of the album as singles, a point that'll fade into irrelevance even by the end of the year.
