Nothing of the very little I'd heard by Todd Rundgren prepared me for Utopia, the bookends particularly made my head spin:

8. Wild Beasts - Two Dancers v. 2. Bad Brains - Bad Brains
7. Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazelwood - Nancy & Lee v. 6. Catherine Wheel - Ferment
4. Conor Oberst - Ruminations v. 5. The Bats - Daddy's Highway
1. Todd Rundgren's Utopia - Utopia v. 3. k.d. lang - Invincible Summer

Standouts: Through the Iron Gates | Supertouch/Shitfit | Sand | Black Metallic | Barbary Coast (Later) | Made up in Blue | Utopia Theme | The Consequences of Falling
All I got inside is vacancy!

I thought beforehand that Utopia's was going to be my album of the week (and I loved it, Todd entering boldly in prog-rock with brilliant results) but I enjoyed more two other albums, the duets album "Nancy & Lee" with outstanding songwriting and a resplendent peak on "Some Velvet Morning" and the spare album of Conor Oberst (I admit I'm not too familiar with his 2010s output). The surprise of the week for me was Catherine Wheel, shoegaze is not my favourite style but this album is really good.

8. Wild Beasts - Two Dancers (2009) vs. 7. Bad Brains - Bad Brains (1982)
1. Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazlewood - Nancy & Lee (1968) vs. 4. Catherine Wheel – Ferment (1992)
2. Conor Oberst - Ruminations (2016) vs. 6. The Bats - Daddy's Highway (1987)
3. Todd Rundgren's Utopia - Todd Rundgren's Utopia (1974) vs. 5. k.d. lang - Invincible Summer (2000)

Favourite song from every album:
Hooting & Howling | I Luv I Jah | Some Velvet Morning | Black Metallic | Barbary Coast (Later) | Block of Wood | Freedom Fighters | Summerfling

One of the all-time great weeks of Moderately Acclaimed? I think so. Every album would at least be a 7 for me. I especially hate to vote against Bad Brains and Catherine Wheel, two great discoveries.

4. Conor Oberst - Ruminations vs. 8. The Bats - Daddy's Highway

Wild Beasts - Two Dancers
I noticed this album appeared a bunch of time already in "biggest fans" (well, I think...)
We don't seem to agree on which song is the best, but all love at least one apparently ! For me it's Two Dancers (i), one of my favs of the decade.
I have to say Pay to Cum is all time great too !

It only appeared once there, with All the King's Men, although that was recently and roughly around the same time a track appeared in the Tournament of Champions: The Fun Powder Plot. I guess that's why I seems it is a regular at Biggest Fan?
