In a good week (I even –kinda– liked the Indonesian album) the album of the week for me could be no other than the "Symphonie fantastique" because it contains the best music of the week (even if I could have some issues about an acclaimed classical work belonging to this game). It was, in Bernstein words, the "first psychedelic symphony in history, the first musical description ever made of a trip." Other than that, the Molly Rankin vs. Jenny Lewis battle of the second bracket was the tightest and toughest.

5. ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead - Source Tags & Codes (2002) vs. 4. Perfume Genius - No Shape (2017)
2. Alvvays - Antisocialites (2017) vs. 3. Rilo Kiley - More Adventurous (2004)
6. Roberta Flack - Oasis (1988) vs. 1. New York Philharmonic / Leonard Bernstein – Berlioz: Symphonie fantastique (1964)
7. Ghost Poet - Dark Days + Canapés (2017) vs. 8. Ten2Five - I Will Fly (2004)

Favourite song from every album:
How Near How Far | Die 4 You | Dreams Tonite | Does He Love You? | Oasis | IV - Marche au supplice | Trouble + Me | I Will Fly

My picks:
1. ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead - Source Tags & Codes vs. Perfume Genius - No Shape
2. Alvvays - Antisocialites vs. Rilo Kiley - More Adventurous
3. Roberta Flack - Oasis vs. Hector Berlioz - Symphonie fantastique [New York Philharmonic / Leonard Bernstein]
4. Ghost Poet - Dark Days + Canapés vs. Ten2Five - I Will Fly
One person nominated the following: Ten2Five, The Outfield, Air Supply, Echosmith, and Sam Hunt - all of which have been completely obliterated in the the first round. What's irritating about this is the nominator has not once voted for these or any match-up at any point in the tournament thus far (despite having posted elsewhere). For future reference, friends, I do not recommend this.

Thanks!

3. ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead - Source Tags & Codes vs. 5. Perfume Genius - No Shape
Perfume Genius always keeps suffering from having some magnificent songs amid a lot of tracks that don't click for me. I haven't heard his latest yet, but No Shape didn't break the curse.

1. Alvvays - Antisocialites vs. 2. Rilo Kiley - More Adventurous
Very difficult pick. Two greats.

7. Roberta Flack - Oasis vs. 4. Hector Berlioz - Symphonie fantastique [New York Philharmonic / Leonard Bernstein]
I Will Fly will be most people's easiest pick of worst album of the week, but I was surprised how close Oasis came for me. Sad to see that Roberta Flack also suffered through what many sixties and seventies artists went through in the eighties: super schmaltzy production. I didn't like it at all, despite liking her earlier stuff.

6. Ghost Poet - Dark Days + Canapés vs. 8. Ten2Five - I Will Fly
It's odd to me that the singer goes very off-key when she sings in English, but sounds very good in Indonesian. If the album as a whole was in the band's native (?) language it might have been number 7 of the week, as it isn't unpleasant there, even if it is really lightweight. The title track might end up my least favorite song of this years MAA, just because how much the voice grates.
