Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac has died at age 79 "following a short illness":

McVie, ex-wife of founding bassist John McVie, was the band's longtime co-lead singer and keyboardist. Among many other songs, she wrote "Over My Head," "Say You Love Me," "Don't Stop," "You Make Lovin' Fun," "Hold Me," "Little Lies," and "Everywhere."

I didn't see this coming. I'm usually focused on the '60s musicians. (Jagger, for instance, is 79.) The introduction of Buckingham/Nicks (73 and 74, by the way) changed the band's fortunes, but McVie was a big part of their success story too.

So she was the oldest member of the band just like a lot of female inclusive groups like Pixies, Sonic Youth, Blondie, Jefferson Airplane, The Knife, Nico with Velvet Underground, the Patti Smith Group, Garbage depending on how you view Butch Vig’s contributions etc. Always found that odd but all tremendous performers in their own right as was McVie herself, RIP!
