Re: Express your love for random artists in this thread.

Nice write-up, Edre My relationship with Green Day is one of mild interest initially, pure fandom for a while and a fall from grace, as you put it yourself. I liked Dookie as an introducer for the Green Day Californian-style punk. I was in America at the time of its release, and Basket Case was all...

Re: The News of Today

Well I'm in the middle of listening to all of 1991's AMF albums. Last heard was Simply Red's Stars. Not impressed. 1991 had its share of acclaimed, but ultimately bad albums. As this thread is news of the day you are getting a little ahead of the news 😉😘 From what I can see it was released in the U...

Re: AM Fantasy Eurovision Quarterfinal 1

Very amusing :) Thanks to whuntva for setting the mood of this thread ! I wonder how the public vote will be represented here ;-) Spotify plays ? (JK) By the way I listened to the Italian song for this year and it’s really quite brilliant. A first for this contest which I considered as a joke. The ...

Re: R.I.P. Jim Steinman

For some he may be a figure of dad rock at its most excessive, but I liked him. R.I.P.
That description made me smile, although in mine and Spiritualized’s household, Jim counts as “Mum-Rock at its most excessive”... Dad is too busy blasting out Tool (which we all like ) .

Re: R.I.P. Jim Steinman

I loved Jim when I was young and only recently pulled his music back up on Spotify. I’d forgotten his classic move made when he took the music and backing singers from Stark Raving Love, 3 years after its release in 1981 and turned it into Bonnie Tyler’s Holding Out For A Hero by changing the key......

Re: Non-English Language Albums and Songs Poll (Nominations Thread)

An idea that just came to me: Would it make sense to make a translation thread where people interested in the lyrics can look at the translated versions? The website LyricsTranslate is incredible for that. :P https://lyricstranslate.com/fr That’s a nice idea ! Thanks. French and English are fine by...

I agree. I also think that making it both individual songs and albums at the same time could be complicated.

Richards hasn’t been afraid to shoot his mouth off about other artists, too. According to NME, the guitarist has described Prince as an “overrated midget” and Bob Dylan as a “nasty little b***er.” Even David Bowie wasn’t immune from Richards’ sharp tongue, with the hellraiser allegedly once claimin...
