Fantastic week with no less than 15 albums updated thanks to bonnielaurel and DaveC but mainly to Moonbeam who made the truly Herculean task of ranking 13 albums on a single day. Thank you very much Moonbeam and welcome back!
The albums updated were:
- Exile on Main St.
- The Queen Is Dead
- OK Computer
- The Velvet Underground & Nico
- Is This It
- Automatic for the People
- Illinois
- Marquee Moon
- The Doors
- Ramones
- Songs in the Key of Life
- Blackstar
- Hunky Dory
- Disintegration
- Post
As a result of the update "Sir Duke" is now last, the #1 song on the album with less total points.

And another fantastic week with 8 albums updated thanks to bonnielaurel, fasbjd, SJner and me. But mainly thanks to Romain that was (almost) this week's Moonbeam and ranked 6 albums in a row. The albums updated were:
- Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
- Time Out
- Daydream Nation
- Ten
- Odessey and Oracle
- Hunky Dory
- Disintegration
- Post
And if last week we had a change on the last position this week we have a new song on the first position (of the #1s ranking). "Life on Mars?" is now first as the song at #1 on everyone's ballot on "Hunky Dory" with a total of 9.
And two changes on albums' #1s:
- "Black" is now the #1 song of "Ten" instead of "Jeremy."
- "Lovesong" is now the #1 song of "Disintegration" instead of "Pictures of You."

Yes, bonnie! Now I belong to the select 100 Club in the splendid company of jamieW and ordinaryperson. But this is not an exclusive club, everyone's invited! You only need to rank the remaining albums. If someone is interested to join us I could send him/her by PM the albums you need to rank…

A long week (with almost two extra days, I was out on the weekend) with 13 albums updated (almost equaling the "Moonbeam week") thanks to bonnielaurel (8), Romain (4) and SJner (1). The albums updated were:
- Blonde on Blonde
- good kid, m.A.A.d city
- In Rainbows
- Closer
- Are You Experienced
- Stankonia
- The Stone Roses
- The Blueprint
- Screamadelica
- Untrue
- The College Dropout
- White Blood Cells
- Rumours

With no less than three changes of #1s:
- "Loaded" replaced "Moving on Up" on "Screamadelica," now we agreed with the critics.
- "Spaceship" replaced "Jesus Walks" on "The College Dropout," being the only case on the whole game of a non acclaimed song getting the hot spot.
- "Go Your Own Way" replaced "The Chain" on "Rumours," agreeing with the critics.

Only 3 albums updated this week (plus a delayed update on "White Blood Cells") but enough to have bonnielaurel in the 100 Club! Welcome!!!
The albums updated were:
- The Velvet Underground & Nico
- The Beatles (White Album)
- Marquee Moon

Moreover we have some minor changes on the correlations with the critics due to the last update. The changes appear on the following albums:
- In Rainbows
- Astral Weeks
- Born in the USA
- Whatever People Say I Am ,That's What I'm Not
- Odessey and Oracle

And after that I think that from now on I will update the results, depending of what happens first, either a) the first Sunday of every month or b) the first Sunday after an update of more than 10 albums.

First Sunday after more than 10 albums ranked so here I go...
14 albums updated this month thanks to antonius (9!), SJner (3), Romain and woodymac. Impressive catch-up, antonius! Hey, antonius, it's a long way to the top if you wanna rock'n'roll but we are waiting here (if you want to).
The albums updated were:
- Revolver
- Kind of Blue
- The Velvet Underground & Nico
- Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
- Blonde on Blonde
- Highway 61 Revisited

- Purple Rain
- Modern Vampires of the City
- Mingus Ah Um
- Rain Dogs

As a result of the update, two changes:

Wow, impressive turnout this week! If on the last update we needed 5 weeks to have 14 albums updated on the following 7 days we had no less than 18 albums updated (3 of them twice), a new record after the official "end" of the game, thanks to CupOfDreams (8), antonius (5), Elder (5), FrankLotion (2) and SJner (2). The albums updated were:
- What's Going On
- Kind of Blue (2)
- The Queen Is Dead
- London Calling
- Born to Run
- The Joshua Tree
- Closer
- Songs for Swingin' Lovers!
- Doolittle
- Dummy (2)
- Marquee Moon
- Led Zeppelin IV
- Back to Black
- Ramones (2)
- Untrue
- Murmur
- Mingus Ah Um
- A Rush of Blood to the Head
We had a change on a #1 song, "Twenty Four Hours" replaced "Decades" at the top of "Closer" being the first case (of two, the other is "Spaceship" on "The College Dropout") of a non-acclaimed song getting the top spot.

Oh, no, Jap123, I'm sorry but I don't want to include more albums, especially right now when the participation has declined so much. On the second post on this same page you can see how the participation declined after the first half. Then people suggested some albums to rank but none of the albums included following these suggestions increased the participation significantly (see this thread). After 75 albums I even did a poll and we used the remaining spots with the albums from our last albums poll instead albums from the official AM list, with a barely detectable increase on the participation. So I'm really sorry but no...

As a result of the update we had a change on a #1, with "Red Eyes" replacing "Under the Pressure" at the top of "Lost in the Dream." With this album we initially had an inverse correlation with the critics (with even the first case of a negative correlation) we finally ended with the same Top 3.

Re: Rank the Tracks Results (Open 24/7)

Post by Honorio »

Wow, what a month for Rank the Tracks! mileswide entered like a tornado, firmly decided to ruin my holidays (only joking, I'm delighted to see Rank the Tracks going up again ) and we had 36 albums in only three weeks. In fact I usually update the results the first Sunday of the month but: a) tomorrow I'm leaving for a holiday trip and b) I'm afraid mileswide could rank 20 more albums in a week (joking again).
So, 36 albums updated in only three weeks thanks to mileswide (34), antonius (4) and Toni (2). And antonius joined the 100Club being the fifth user that ranked each and every one of the 100 albums. Even if mileswide almost won him in less than a month (joking again).
The albums updated were:
- Revolver
- Kind of Blue
- Pet Sounds
- The Queen Is Dead
- London Calling
- Thriller
- Blue Lines
- Is This It
- Elvis Presley
- Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
- Never Mind the Bollocks Here's the Sex Pistols
- Sign 'O' the Times
- Automatic for the People
- Blonde on Blonde
- Odelay
- Elephant
- In the Wee Small Hours
- Closer
- Dummy
- Astral Weeks (2)
- Blood on the Tracks
- Marquee Moon
- The Stone Roses
- The Blueprint
- Led Zeppelin IV
- Back to Black
- Ramones
- (What's the Story) Morning Glory? (2)
- The College Dropout
- Innervisions
- A Rush of Blood to the Head
- Ten
- Blackstar
- The Shape of Jazz to Come
- Beggars Banquet
- Hunky Dory (2)

As a result of the update we had three changes on number ones:
- "Where It's At" regained the top position on "Odelay" displacing "Devils Haircut."
- "Don't Look back in Anger" displaced "Wonderwall" that fell to the third position.
- And "Spaceship" displaced again "Jesus Walks" on "The College Dropout."
Moreover lots of changes on the comparative positions on the #1 of every album (see here) since mileswide knocked down every #1 almost invariably (please don't take it as a complain, I was joking again, I'm perfectly fine with whatever option you choose). The most significant change was "Life on Mars?" that lost its throne to "I've Got You Under My Skin."

Ouch! I don't know if I can feel my ears burning or my face blushing

I am admittedly trying to listen to or re-visit as many of the 100 as I can before next year's all-time poll but I'll latch on to the Moderately Acclaimed thread and similar at least until you're back on terra firma!

And about the change in order, what can I say, there's a contrarian streak in me, delighting in kicking over musical statues- particularly glad in my role in sending Where It's At to the top of Odelay's ranks :happy-partydance:
All I got inside is vacancy!

25 albums updated in four weeks thanks to mileswide (24), Edre Peraza (1) and SJner (1). mileswide with this becomes the official sixth member of the 100Club, being the quickest (he ranked the 100 albums from May to November and he even found the time for hosting the chorus poll and participating on many other games). Thank you again and welcome, mileswide.
The albums updated were:
- It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back
- My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
- OK Computer
- Kid A
- Channel Orange
- Remain in Light
- good kid, m.A.A.d city
- Horses
- Grace
- Songs for Swingin' Lovers!
- Doolittle
- Endtroducing.....
- Abbey Road
- Achtung Baby
- Electric Ladyland
- Lost in the Dream
- Daydream Nation
- Rubber Soul
- Who's Next (2)
- Mingus Ah Um
- Let It Bleed
- Ten
- Born in the U.S.A.
- In Utero
- Post

After the update we had a change at the top of "It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back," the critics wanted to "Bring the Noise" but we decided to "Don't Believe the Hype."
And the highest ranked #1 is not "I've Got You Under My Skin" anymore, it has been replaced by "Gimme Shelter."

Well, and this is the final update of Rank the Tracks. After (almost) five years of the first album ranked (August 2014) and after almost 3 years of the open 24/7 thread (January 2017) we close our doors. It's been a pleasure to have hosted the game the last 3 years. Many thanks to:
- BleuPanda who had the idea and hosted the initial run of the game from August to November of 2014.
- Sweepstakes Ron and whuntva who hosted two albums on December of 2014 and January of 2015.
- babydoll who hosted the game from February to August of 2016.
And a special thanks to all the people who participated in the game, especially the members of the 100Club (antonius, bonnielaurel, jamieW, mileswide and ordinaryperson) and also to the ones that ranked more than half of the albums (bootsy, Listyguy, Romain, DaveC and whuntva).
Hope you enjoyed the ride. And, of course, if someone (Holden?) wants to host a second part or simply wants to keep the thread open 24/7 for an additional time, I'm perfectly OK with that. I could send him/her the Excel and Word files.
