Catherine Lara (born Catherine Bodet; 29 May 1945) is a French violinist, composer and singer.

Catherine Baudet was born in Poissy, near Paris, the daughter of a doctor (and amateur violinist). Her mother brought up Catherine, her sister and two brothers in a musical household. Catherine started playing the violin at age 11 and entered the conservatoire at Versailles, leaving two years later with a first prize in 1966.

She played and composed for famous singers before starting to sing herself. Her first album, Ad libitum was released in 1972. Since her 1979 album Coup d'feel, her songs are more influenced by rock music. The 1983 album La Rockeuse de diamant provided a major success with the single "La Rockeuse de diamant", and a daring song with "Autonome", in which she says : "[I'm] free to love a woman or a man". In 1986, she made a breakthrough with the single "Nuit magique" written by Luc Plamondon, her biggest hit that brought her fame and made her win a Victoires de la Musique (French Grammy Awards) for best female singer of the year. She published her autobiography in 1987, L'Aventurière de l'archet perdu. She was named Chevalier of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture in 1990.

Still with Plamondon, she worked on a rock opera where she embodied female writer George Sand, titled Sand et les Romantiques in 1991. As a part of the show, she released a duet with her friend Véronique Sanson, entitled "Entre elle et moi".

She takes part in charity tours for Les Restos du coeur, alongside French rock stars Johnny Hallyday, Eddy Mitchell and Jean-Jacques Goldman, as well as Sidaction and Sol En Si. In 2002, she composed a song for the France national football team, to be sung by Johnny Hallyday. The same year Lara was named Officer of the Ordre de la Légion d'honneur.

Translator's comments:
1. that sounds like a feminine version of "mon mec" (my guy/boyfriend)
2. "croqueuse"(muncher) and "rockeuse"(rocker [girl]) sound exactly the same except for the initial 'c'. A "croqueuse de diamant"(diamond muncher) is a "gold digger", but changing diamonds for gold would have required a bit too much adaptation. The pun does not extend beyond the catch phrase anyway, the song has noting to do with seduction for money.
3. diamond necklaces are called "rivers" in French
4. at least that's how I picture this strange metaphor...
5. whatever that might mean...
6. apart from the first name meaning "most beautiful", I have no idea what she means by that

Thibaut Jean-Marie Michel Berland (born October 5, 1981), known by his stage name Breakbot, is a French producer and a DJ who has been signed with Ed Banger Records since May 2009.

He studied at Supinfocom, a computer graphics university. He co-directed one short film Overtime with Oury Atlan and Damien Ferrié. The short won the Ottawa International Animation Festival award for "Best Graduate Film" in 2005 and the Internationales Trickfilmfestival Stuttgart "Young Animation Award" in 2006. Thibaut Berland also prepared advertisements and videos.

Breakbot is most recognized for his remixes. His reworkings of songs by artists including Röyksopp, Digitalism, and Chromeo are among his most popular. The music video of "Baby I'm Yours" featuring Irfane was directed by Irina Dakeva and became a summer hit MTV Pulse, France. The music video was nominated for "Best budget pop/dance/urban video" and "Best animation in a video" during the UK Music Video Awards on October 12, 2010.

In February 2016, he released his new album, Still Waters, produced with his acolyte Irfane Khan-Acito, and his track Star Tripper was included in Star Wars Headspace, a Star-Wars themed music album released by Disney.

Breakbot's position in popular culture is influenced by the similarities between "Baby I'm Yours" and 2012 chart hit "Treasure" by Bruno Mars. "Treasure" was re-registered in ASCAP with new writing credits, which included him and Irfane Khan-Acito, due to the similarities with the former song.

Late-70's performer, composer and producer of Electronic Music.Propably the same Phillipe Guerre who made a single and an album in 1973 along with one Michel Guerre (rising questions about a relationship between the two) in a French Chanson style.His first album ''Cristal'' was completely performed by himself and released as a private press in 1979.His only equipment were a monophonic Teisco 100F synthesizer and an Elka Rhapsody string synthesizer.

The tracks flow constantly with parallel work on double synths with the Teisco keyboard providing the cosmic lines and the Elka Rhapsody sounding often like a harsichord.The mood is fairly melancholic and depressive with occasional romantic touches and some bits from Medieval and Baroque periods in the process.The atmosphere is pretty grandiose as expected, even if the tracks sound pretty similar to each other.There are still some piano tunes to be heard in a couple of tracks, but the album is heavily relying on its eerie, dark enviroment, which often flirts with Soundtrack/Horror Music.

A throwback to the flower power era, '60s revivalists Brigitte are a French female duo combining lounge-pop, retro-folk, and French cabaret to produce an authentic hippie-chic sound. Named in honor of several of the decade's icons (Bardot, Fontaine, Lahaie), Aurélie Maggiori, who had previously recorded under the name of Mayane Delem, and Sylvie Hoarau, formerly the lead vocalist in Parisian rock band Vendetta, formed their duo in 2008.
After recording a cover version of Michel Jonasz's "Les Vacances au Bord de la Mer" for Delem's former bandmate Benoit Petre's film Thelma Louise et Chantal, the pair signed to Wagram Records and released an EP, Battez-Vous, which featured a unique take on Suprême NTM's '90s hip-hop anthem "Ma Benz."
Co-written with Franco-Lebanese singer/songwriter Camille Bazbaz and French troubadour Albin de la Simone, their debut album, Et Vous, Tu M'aimes?, was released in 2011. It peaked inside the Top 20 in France, and charted there for nearly two years while the duo toured nationally and abroad, eventually logging more than 200 concert dates. Brigitte's second album, À Bouche Que Veux-Tu (Mouth of Plenty), appeared in late 2014, released on the duo's own B. Records label and featuring co-production by Brigitte and Marlon B (who assisted on the first album).

Johnny Hallyday (French pronunciation: ​[dʒɔ.ni a.li.dɛ], 15 June 1943 – 5 December 2017), stage name of Jean-Philippe Smet, was a French singer and actor. He was married for 15 years to popular Bulgarian-French singer Sylvie Vartan and the two were considered a "golden couple" for 20 years. Hallyday completed 181 tours, had 18 platinum albums, and sold more than 110 million records worldwide, making him one of the world's best-selling artists of all time.

Hallyday remains largely unknown outside the Francophone world, thus earning the nickname "the biggest rock star you've never heard of" in English-speaking countries.


Early life
Hallyday's father, Léon Smet (1908–1989), was Belgian; his mother, Huguette Clerc (1920–2007), was French. Born in Paris, Hallyday took his stage name from his aunt Desta's husband and dance partner Lee Hallyday, a pseudonym for Lee Ketcham, an expatriate Oklahoman, performer, and MC at the Café de Paris where Johnny began his singing career. Johnny was raised by Desta and Lee from a very young age, with Lee being his first manager. Johnny was always very loyal to Lee and secured him a permanent job as a producer and A&R man with his label, Philips Records until Lee's retirement and relocation back to Oklahoma.

Career
Influenced by Elvis Presley and the 1950s rock n' roll revolution, Hallyday became famous in the 1960s for singing Rock 'n' Roll in French. His debut single, "Laisse les filles" was released on the Vogue label in March 1960. His first album, Hello Johnny, was released in 1960. In 1961 his cover of "Let's Twist Again" sold over one million copies, and was awarded a gold disc. It topped almost every European chart, although the track did not appear in the UK Singles Chart. He appeared on the American The Ed Sullivan Show with American singing star Connie Francis in a show that was taped at the Moulin Rouge nightclub in Paris. He also staged many appearances in the Paris Olympia under the management of the late Bruno Coquatrix. For their first concert, The Jimi Hendrix Experience opened for Johnny Hallyday in Évreux on 13 October 1966. Black-and-white footage, also from October 1966, exists of Hallyday partying with Hendrix, his manager Chas Chandler and others. There also is a widely published monochrome photograph of Hallyday walking somewhere in Paris in late May 1966 with Bob Dylan.

At the end of the 1960s, Hallyday made a string of albums with Mick Jones and Tommy Brown as musical directors, and Big Jim Sullivan, Bobby Graham and Jimmy Page as session musicians. These are Jeune Homme, Rivière... Ouvre ton Lit (a.k.a. Je suis né dans la rue) and Vie. On Je suis né dans la rue, Hallyday also hired both Peter Frampton and the Small Faces. Amongst their contributions are the songs Amen (Bang Bang), Reclamation (News Report), and Regarde Pour Moi (What You Will), which are variations of Small Faces and Humble Pie (Frampton's band) songs—tracks and they all play on the album. Often forgotten is Hallyday's non-LP single and EP track Que Je T'aime from the same sessions. By 1969 alone, his sales of records exceeded twelve million.

One of Hallyday's later concerts, 100% Johnny: Live à La Tour Eiffel in 2000, attracted an audience of 500,000 and 9.5 million television viewers (the show was broadcast live on French TV). In December 2005, Hallyday had his third number-one single in France, "Mon Plus Beau Noël" (after "Tous ensemble" and "Marie"), dedicated to his adopted daughter Jade. Shortly before announcing his retirement from touring, he released a blues-flavored album, Le Cœur d'un homme, on 12 November 2007. The album hit No. 1 in both France and French-speaking Belgium. In addition to the lead single "Always", Le Cœur d'un homme features "T'aimer si mal", a duet with bluesman Taj Mahal and "I Am the Blues", an English-language song written for Hallyday by U2's lead singer Bono. His next album, Ça ne finira jamais, released in 2008, another No. 1 on the French album chart, and its lead single, "Ça n'finira jamais", also reached No. 1. In 2008 he recorded a series of acoustic songs with French musician Drexl Jonez. Hallyday's most recent album, also a No. 1 hit in France, is Tour 66: Stade de France 2009, a live set recorded at Stade de France during his farewell tour with appearances by Drexl Jonez on the guitar.

French movie producers Michèle and Laurent Pétin introduced Johnny Hallyday to Hong Kong film director Johnnie To. Hallyday was cast as the main role of To's Vengeance after meeting with the director in early 2008. The shooting began in November 2008 and concluded in February 2009.


On December 6, 2017, Hallyday died at age 74.

Although she was best known as the pretty, perky teenager who won the 1965 Eurovision Song Contest with her hit "Poupée de Cire, Poupée de Son," French pop singer France Gall had a much longer and more varied career than that, releasing solid records for decades. Although only a cult figure in most of the rest of the world, Gall was a major star and beloved figure in her native country.

Born Isabelle Gall in Paris on October 9, 1947, Gall was the daughter of French performer and producer Roger Gall, who had written songs for Édith Piaf and Charles Aznavour. In 1962, at the age of 15, Gall was ushered into the studio by her father to record her debut EP, Ne Sois Pas Si Bete. The four-track EP (the standard in French pop music at the time, and the format of most of her releases for the rest of the decade) was an enormous hit, selling 200,000 copies in France thanks both to the irresistible title track and the absolutely stunning cover photo. Gall released a series of similarly successful pop hits for the next several years, peaking with winning the aforementioned Eurovision Song Contest in 1965. But although many dismissed Gall as a Francophone Lesley Gore, making fluffy and ultra-commercial pop hits with little substance, Gall's hits from this era stand up far better than most. Only Françoise Hardy was consistently making records up to these standards during this era. Though Gall's high, breathy voice was admittedly somewhat limited, she made the most of it. Even dopey hits like "Sacre Charlemagne," a duet with a pair of puppets who were the stars of a children's show on French TV, have an infectious, zesty charm; meatier tunes, like the sultry jazz-tinged ballad "Pense a Moi" and the brilliant rocker "Laisse Tomber les Filles," were as good as any single produced in the U.S. or Great Britain at the time.

In 1966, Gall's public persona shifted into a more mature phase, both musically and personally. The change came with that year's controversial hit "Les Sucettes." Though on the surface the Serge Gainsbourg-penned tune was a pretty little song about a young girl and her lollipop, the unmistakable subtext of the sly lyrics meant that the not-yet-18-year-old Gall was singing approvingly (and, she later claimed, completely unknowingly) about oral sex. Les Sucettes and its follow-up, Baby Pop, are among Gall's finest, musically richer and more varied than her early hits, but every bit as catchy. (During this period of her career, Gall was signed not only to the French division of Philips, but to the German branch of the company, and also released several German-language EPs and albums, mixing translations of her Francophone hits and all-new material.) The psychedelic era found Gall, under Gainsbourg's guidance, singing increasingly strange songs, like "Teenie Weenie Boppie" (a bizarre tune about a deadly LSD trip that somehow involves Mick Jagger) set to some of Gainsbourg's most out-there arrangements. The excellent 1968 is Gall's best album from this period, with "Teenie Weenie Boppie," the trippy "Nefertiti," and the slinky, jazzy "Bebe Requin," perhaps Gall's sexiest single ever.

Like other stars of the '60s yé-yé scene, Gall's career took a downturn in the early '70s. No longer a teenager, but without a new persona to redefine herself (and without the help of Gainsbourg, whose time was taken by his own albums and those of his wife, Jane Birkin), Gall floundered both commercially and artistically. A label change from Philips to BASF in 1972 didn't help matters, but in 1974 Gall met and married songwriter/producer Michel Berger. Berger took over his wife's career starting with 1975's France Gall and reestablished her popularity throughout Europe. Berger's middle-of-the-road soft rock style (think late-era Elton John, with whom Gall recorded a duet, "Les Aveux," in 1980) was slickly commercial and, for the most part, less inspired than Gall's '60s work, but although her material was by and large weaker, Gall became a much stronger and more technically adept singer during this era. Albums like 1987's Babacar, 1984's Débranche!, and 1988's live Tour de France cannot be recommended to those completely averse to mellow "lite" rock, but they have their charms.

Gall's life took a tragic turn in the '90s; Berger died of a heart attack at the age of 46 in 1992, and their daughter Pauline died of cystic fibrosis at the age of 19 in 1997. Gall announced her retirement after Berger's death, but after reconsidering, she restarted her career with 1996's France, a tender tribute to her partner and mentor. That same year, a new generation of listeners began discovering her work when Heavenly covered her Serge Gainsbourg-penned hit "Nous Ne Sommes Pas des Anges" on Operation Heavenly. France Gall died of cancer on January 7, 2018 at the age of 70.

"Ella, elle l'a" (French for "Ella, She Has It") is a single released by French singer France Gall. It was released as a single from her album Babacar, on 24 August 1987, and became a hit across Europe, the Americas (especially in Quebec and the Southern Cone) and Asia (especially in Japan)

Written by Michel Berger, the song is basically a tribute to Ella Fitzgerald, but also a protest against racism and an anthem to personal empowerment. Musically, "it swings between sheared rhythms of the bass and flashed brass". The song is also available on the CD maxi for Évidemment, released on March 1988. In addition, a live version from her concert album Le Tour de France was realased in November that year.

The song had great success between 1987 and 1988, reaching number one in Austria and Germany in the latter year; plus reaching the Top 10 in Sweden, Spain and Argentina. In France, the single was certified as silver disc by the SNEP, reaching #2. It was on the chart Top 50 during nineteen weeks, from October 24th 1987; and nine weeks on the Top 10. In addition, it won two Victoires de la Musique in both years. It was covered live by French singer Alizée at a TV show in 2002 and by Belgian singer Kate Ryan in a dance version in 2008.

Ofenbach is a French DJ duo, consisting of Dorian Lo and César de Rummel, based in Paris. They are best known for their gold-certified song "Be Mine" which charted on the Billboard Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart at 35th. After releasing songs like "Around the Fire" and "You Don't Know Me", they gained support from artists such as Robin Schulz and Tiesto. They are also known for remixing songs from Bob Sinclar, Hyphen Hyphen, and James Bay.

The duo met at school at an early age. When they were 13 years old, Lo's father told them that one of the best experiences of his life was being part of a band. This inspired them to form their first musical group in which they performed rock music. They cite some of their influences as Supertramp, The Rolling Stones, and Led Zeppelin.

The name Ofenbach was selected after the duo became inspired by French composer Jacques Offenbach, whose score was found at their home.

Ofenbach released their single "Be Mine" alongside an official remix package via Warner Music France/Big Beat, which featured remixes from Agrume, Antiyu, and Stone Van Brooken. The song peaked at number one in Russia and Poland.

Sheila and B. Devotion (also credited as Sheila B. Devotion, Sheila and the Black Devotion or S.B. Devotion) was a disco group fronted by French singer Sheila between 1977 and 1980. This formation briefly reached popularity in Europe and to a lesser extent in the US club circuit during the disco era. The group recorded two albums (Love Me Baby and King of the World) before dissolving in 1980 when Sheila returned to her solo career.

Before the group's formation, Sheila (born Annie Chancel in Créteil, France on August 16, 1945) scored numerous hits in her homeland during the 1960s and the 1970s. Among her chart toppers were "L'École est Finie" (1963), "Vous les Copains" (the French cover version of Manfred Mann's "Do Wah Diddy Diddy" in 1964), "'Petite Fille de Français Moyens" (1968) and "Les Rois Mages" (the cover of "Tweedle Dee Tweedle Dum" originally performed by Middle of the Road in 1971). Her success helped her producer Claude Carrere to launch his label Carrere Records. The Yé-yé artist was initially presented as a girl next door. In 1977, she completely changed her public image when Sheila & B Devotion was formed. She attempted to convey a more mature style in her music. Three American back-up singers/dancers (Dany Mac Farlane, Freddy Stracham and Arthur Wilkins) known as B. Devotion were hired to accompany her. She updated her bubblegum repertoire by performing disco tracks sung in English.

Because Carrere did not want to shock Sheila's public and the French media, the debut single of the group ("Love Me Baby") was released anonymously in May 1977 in France. The first pressings of the record mentioned the obscure name of S.B Devotion. The song was a radio and club hit. The identity of the group was rapidly revealed and the quartet was officially named Sheila B. Devotion. "Love Me Baby" became a mainstream Top 10 hit in Europe. The follow-up single was a disco version of "Singin' in the Rain" and was more successful. In early 1978, it was licensed to Casablanca Records to be released in the United States where it became a club hit.

The group name was altered in some markets to "Sheila & B. Devotion", while in others the name Sheila B. Devotion was maintained. Essentially, the US market knew the act as "Sheila & B. Devotion", while Canada, Australia, the UK, Ireland and the European markets stuck with the name Sheila B. Devotion. In 1979, the name was officially changed to Sheila & B. Devotion across all markets internationally. In the meantime, the Love Me Baby album (featuring the two above-mentioned hits) came out. The group promoted their records on the major European TV shows (Musikladen, Disco and Top of the Pops).

Working in the sweetly swinging tradition of Serge Gainsbourg and the yé-yé sound of the '60s, the Limiñanas have a sound that blends sunny psychedelia with vintage pop. Based out of Perpignan, France, the group is composed of drummer and sometime vocalist Marie Limiñana and bassist, organist, and jack-of-all-trades Lionel Limiñana, as well as a host of guest vocalists including MU.
With its combination of fuzzy organ, half-spoken/half-sung vocals, and vintage production, the band captures the sexy, ultra-hip sound of classic French pop. After releasing a series of singles, the duo released its self-titled debut in 2010 through the Chicago label Trouble in Mind. The band continued to crank out singles, and a second album, Crystal Anis, followed in the summer of 2012. After taking some time to revamp the Limiñanas' sound to introduce more elements of French and Italian soundtrack music, the duo returned quickly with its third album for Trouble in Mind, 2013's Costa Blanca. After a collection of singles was released by TiM (I've Got Trouble in Mind: 7" and Rare Stuff 2009/2014), the duo teamed with French guitarist Pascal Comelade to make the Traité de Guitarres Triolectiques LP in 2015 for Because Music.
The next year, they released their fourth album, Malamore. It featured Comelade on one song and former New Order bassist Peter Hook on another. After the release of a late-2017 EP, Istanbul Is Sleepy, which featured the band working with Brian Jonestown Massacre's Anton Newcombe, they returned with Shadow People. The quintessentially Limiñanas-sounding record had guest appearances by Hook, actress Emmanuelle Seigner, Newcombe (who produced the record), and French vocalist Bertrand Belin. Because Music issued the album in early 2018.

The Limiñanas arrived fully formed on their first single in 2009 and haven't strayed too far from their winning formula. Drummer Marie and bassist, guitarist, and organist Lionel established a unique sound derived from the pop of Serge Gainsbourg, the smoky sophistication of '60s film soundtracks, the lo-fi buzz of the Velvet Underground, and the melodic sweetness of the Jesus and Mary Chain right away, and their fourth album, Malamore, is built on this same framework. As with previous albums, part of the fun is seeing what they might add or subtract from the equation. Previous albums have added some acoustic folk elements, some arty drone, or a little bit of surfy twang, while welcoming an interesting array of guests. To the latter point, Malamore features guitarist Pascal Comelade on the bustling wah-wah-heavy song that closes the album,"The Train Creep A-Loopin," and ex-New Order bassist Peter Hook adds his trademarked bass sound to the loping ballad "Garden of Love." To the former, there isn't much experimentation this time around. The band sounds focused and tightly wound, the songs are punchy and hooky, and the side trips are kept to a minimum. Where past albums may have meandered a bit, creating atmospheric avenues to explore, Malamore hits the listener over the head with one perfect-sounding track after another. Uptempo rockers like "Dahlia Rouge" and the fierce title track are bound to inspire some goofy dance moves; the raging guitar workout "Zippo" will satisfy those who need six-stringed mayhem. Fans of cool, deadpan French pop will dig tracks like "Prisunic" and "The Dead Are Walking," which get their kicks without breaking a sweat. The songs that bring the intensity down a notch, like "Garden of Love," show off the duo's softer side without losing any of their edge. By the end, they add up to something really special. All their records to this point have been really strong; Malamore is where they make a grab for brilliance.

Modeling
Born Corinne Charbit in Paris, Charby grew up in France, and left school after the troisième (form 3). In the late 1970s, she began a successful career as a model. She appeared on the cover of major magazines such as Elle and Lui and participated in several runway shows for large fashion houses.

Cinema
In the early 80s, she began a brief career in cinema. Her first and probably best known role was in the 1981 film, La Chèvre, where she played the part of a young woman sought by Pierre Richard and Gérard Depardieu. In 1982, she appeared in Plus beau que moi tu meurs with Aldo Maccione, and then in Rebelote the following year. Finally, in 1984, she played a prostitute in Un Été d'enfer with Thierry Lhermitte. Music
In 1984, she began singing under the name of Corynne Charby. Her first 7 inch, "À cause de toi", was written by Didier Barbelivien. These first productions passed almost unnoticed. Charby didn't really gain popularity until 1986 with her summer hit "Boule de flipper", a song composed by the French singer Christophe. This was followed by other hits such as "Pile ou Face" in 1987, another song of hers that dominated the French SNEP Singles Chart (Top 50). Staples of French popular music, these two songs are now available on many compilations of 80s hits.

On 17 June 1987, Charby teamed up with Johnny Hallyday to perform "Elle était toute seule" on the variety television show Embarquement immédiat pour l'Irlande on FR3.

In 1987, Charby released her second album entitled Toi. The album's songs were written by Franck Yvy and composed by Jean-Louis d'Onorio, and featured three singles : "Pas vu, pas pris", "Elle sortait tard le soir" and "Même". The album was a commercial failure, with only "Pas vu, pas plus" obtaining relative success as a single.

Subsequently, Charby's artistic career came to an end. She married the head of a record company, and decided to devote herself to her family. According to various rumours, she additionally worked as a writer for sitcoms and TV dramas.

Charby's musical career was recapitulated in a Greatest Hits compilation released in 2001. In addition to her most well known songs from the 1980s (in extended versions), the disc contains a megamix. A new compilation named Boule de flipper was released in 2003 by Sony Music Entertainment.

Eskaton biography
Formed in 1970, the ESKATON KOMMANDKESTRA continued the Zeuhl tradition spearheaded by Christian Vander's MAGMA. In an move towards accessibility they discard the Kobaian lyrics, opting instead for their native French. In 1974 original members Xavier de Raymond (Fender piano), Gerard Konig (drums), Marc Rosenberg (bass guitar), and Alain Blesing (guitar) are joined by Paule Kleynnaert (vocals), Amara Tahir (vocals), Eris Guillaume (keyboards), and Andre Bernardi (guitar) becoming simply ESKATON.

1979 saw the release of their first single "Musique Post Atomique", and the recording of their first album "4 Visions" (which would remain unreleased until 1981). Personnell changes (Alain Blessing, Eric Guillaume and Xavier de Raymond out, Gilles Rozenberg and MALICORNE's violinist Patrick Lemercier in) resulted in shorter songs, tighter arrangements and their next release, 1980's "Ardeur". In 1983 after the addition of synthesizers into their arrangements, and a move away from their more traditional Zeuhl sound, ESKATON recorded their last release "Fiction". In 1984 Gilles Rozenberg left the group, and the remaining members recorded their last album "I Care", which was never released.

Now 20 years later, ESKATON remains one of Zeuhl's brightest moments, and their album "4 Visions" (released on CD in 1995 through Sweeden's Ad Perpetuam Memoriam label) is a masterpiece of the entire genre.

Album review (RYM):
"Ardeur" was Eskaton's first album to market, but their second recording after the almighty "4 Visions", which was released on cassette a year after this album. It appears Eskaton was carefully toning down the rougher edges of the debut, and offering a slicker, more contemporary release. As such, veteran Zeuhl listeners will recall other early 80's ventures such as Superfreego and even Foehn in these grooves. Not surprisingly, the most aggressive tracks are the rewrites of two "4 Visions" gems: 'Attente' and 'Eskaton'. And 'Dagon' represents Eskaton at their most creative and experimental - a direction that sadly the band never really pursued again. Overall, "Ardeur" features more synthesizer, Fender Rhodes, and violin with less "thrash" bass guitar, than its predecessor. The angelic voices of the two female leads still shine brightly here. I'm in the minority here, but I feel "Ardeur" to be the weakest of the Eskaton releases. Weakest being defined as 4.5 stars - perhaps underlining what a monster band Eskaton truly was.

Bulldozer - J'suis punk - 1978

Bulldozer is a group that appeared at the end of the 70s led by gerard pisani, a former Martin Circus. The group differs from the punk movement by catchy melodies and original or cynical lyrics highlighted by gerard pasini's charismatic voice, they will be very regularly depreciated due to their affiliation with Martin Circus.

Albert Préjean (27 October 1894 in Paris – 1 November 1979 in Paris) was a French actor, primarily in film. He served in World War I, and was decorated with the Croix de Guerre and the Legion d'honneur. With Lysiane Rey, he was the father of Patrick Préjean, and grandfather of Laura Préjean.

Préjean shot his first five films with French director Henri Diamant-Berger between 1921 and 1923. The roles he played tended to embody the leading man for the people, generous and strong. His most lasting fame stems from his work in the films of René Clair that transition from the silent to the sound eras. These include most notably the farce Un Chapeau de Paille d'Italie (1928) and the musicalized melancomic Sous les toits de Paris (1930). When German director G. W. Pabst directed the film version of the huge Brecht-Weill musical hit Die Dreigroschenoper in 1931, he simultaneously shot a French-language version (L'opéra de quat'sous) with a French lead cast. Préjean was given the coveted lead role of the underworld kingpin Mackie Messer.

In 1929 he directed a medium-length film L'Aventure de Luna-Park with Daniele Parola. In addition to acting he was also a popular singer in the 1930s. He sang songs like "La Valse to Dede Montmartre".

During World War II he continued to act in films. In March 1942, he joined a group of actors who at the invitation of the Germans visited film studios in Berlin. This was alongside French actors and actresses such as René Dary, Astor Junie, Viviane Romance, Suzy Delair and Danielle Darrieux.
