I'm doing something similar right now but in reverse; I've been going through the acclaimed music list for every year starting with 2016 and then making a top 100 afterward.

Easier in terms of my musical sweet spot 1986-2005 but always tough to narrow it down to just 50 and try to come up with an order that makes sense!!!

And math was never a strong suit, I guess we are going to go 52 years because by the time I build this it will be time to construct a top 50 list from this year.

Excellent thread. Excellent taste in music. Frankly it is almost scary to me how much your taste syncs up with mine. I couldn't believe some of the calls. I start seeing Mission of Burma and the Furs towards the top of some charts, and I am impressed. Good going. Did you ever get into the Gun Club? I'm curious for the Brit Pop years, and also for the great school of new bands from '03-'05.
