Disintegration and 1999 in top 100
I'll be sad if Caravanserai doesn't make the top 1000. It is such a great album. It's basically the pop version of Bitches Brew.

If this is anything like the Top Artists poll, there will be an appearance or two by an uber-popular album that would not show up in the forum on a more average day

I hope there's at least one spanish language album on the list, it's difficult, but i hope.

Hmm? Are none of the ones already presented, especially Racionais MCs, in Spanish?panam wrote:I hope there's at least one spanish language album on the list, it's difficult, but i hope.
Another prediction: I wonder if any EPs will make it? I doubt it.

At the very least Kindred, Jar of Flies and Magical Mystery Tour. Possibly Chronic Town, Come on Pilgrim and a couple others among those that made our top 20 in our best EPs poll.prosecutorgodot wrote:panam wrote:Another prediction: I wonder if any EPs will make it? I doubt it.

Re: AMF Favorite Albums of All-Time -- Prediction Thread
Ok, scratch out 1999 being in top 100; I think you'll be lucky to see it in the top 200. So swap it out for Hounds of Love. Still holding out hope for Disintegration.
What will be the top ten most voted albums?
Does anyone think there is an album that everyone voted for? It would be really cool if there was, but odds are there is no such album.
In terms of bjork...

In terms of bjork...
- What will be the consensus top pick?
- How many of her albums will be in top 100?
Re: AMF Favorite Albums of All-Time -- Prediction Thread
No chance of any album being on every list. I'd be surprised if any album cracked 60 votes. I expect most voted will be between OK Computer, VU & Nico, Revolver, and Funeral. Not that those will be the top four overall.
As for Bjork's winner - that is really hard to call. I'd like it to be Debut, but I think Homogenic is most likely. 3 in the top 100.
Although I think Bonnielaurel has this prediction game down; Get specific and you're almost sure to be wrong.

Hip-hop-wise, Kanye probably has a strong chance. The rest is up in the air.

I hate that I can't make any comments here, having seen the results.
I will say this since this is my opinion: The Velvet Underground & Nico trumps OK Computer any day of the week.

Re: AMF Favorite Albums of All-Time -- Prediction Thread
Oh, I meant in my opinion, VU&N is way better than that Radiohead album. As for the results, it may have won or it may have not. In no way was my opinion a confirmation of fact. You'll simply have to wait and see if it won or not.Henry wrote:I kind of figured that The VU might strike againbabydoll wrote:I hate that I can't make any comments here, having seen the results.

Re: AMF Favorite Albums of All-Time -- Prediction Thread
The last time we did this poll, I was very happy to see OK Computer finish 2nd. I think we needed confirmation that it could be beaten. I like VU & Nico and Ok Computer about equally though, so either one winning is fine by me.
Re: AMF Favorite Albums of All-Time -- Prediction Thread
I would prefer to see a winner that was more enjoyable for me than either of these two albums.Listyguy wrote:The last time we did this poll, I was very happy to see OK Computer finish 2nd. Last time, I REALLY enjoyed confirming that VU&N did beat OkC (as those of you who were there will remember). However I do believe it will again be Radiohead's turn.Listyguy wrote:The last time we did this poll, I was very happy to see OK Computer finish 2nd. Who even knows? I'm not getting my hopes up for Enter the Wu-Tang or The Stranger winning, but I'm hoping they'll at least show up.

So many of you are already fighting over the top and I'm just happy to see Young Team make it on this year's list.
I think my main interest is seeing where To Pimp a Butterfly and Blackstar place, along with the other new albums since the previous poll.

At least two changes to the list because of mistabulations.
Re: AMF Favorite Albums of All-Time -- Prediction Thread
I'll predict that Funeral stays in the top 6. Last time it got there without a top-3 vote, and now I've given it a No. 1 vote.

I'll make predictions for my favorite band:
LCD Soundsystem will have a slight tumble
Sound of Silver will have an unremarkable increase
This Is Happening will take a rather large leap

All the best to TVUAN, but my prediction goes to OKC.
I get the gripes about OK Computer. But it is too popular with too many people to deny. You have to had listened to it at a certain point in your life, and been thinking about specific things too. The stars aligned for me that way, and so yeah, basically the album is a pseudo-bible to me.

Re: AMF Favorite Albums of All-Time -- Prediction Thread
OKC seems like the most likely #1 because of its broad appeal: proggy enough for prog fans like me but succinct enough for art rock fans and catchy enough for pop fans.
I loved Funeral when it first came out and own the album, but its abiding moroseness has lost its appeal to me over the years, and I didn't include it in my list.
As for The Dark Side of the Moon (my #1), I think it may crack the top 15 just because it appeared on so many of the lists that were shared publicly.

Re: AMF Favorite Albums of All-Time -- Prediction Thread
I'm very interested in seeing how the 2010s albums rank this time around. For reference, here were the 10 highest ranking 2010s albums back in our 2014 poll...
#69 Kanye West- My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
#118 Frank Ocean- Channel Orange
#124 Arcade Fire- The Suburbs
#133 Janelle Monae- The ArchAndroid
#134 The National- High Violet
#135 PJ Harvey- Let England Shake
#152 Daft Punk- Random Access Memories
#171 Vampire Weekend- Modern Vampires of the City
#172 Kendrick Lamar- Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City
#255 Kanye West- Yeezus

Re: AMF Favorite Albums of All-Time -- Prediction Thread
Hmm, I'll try my hand at top 10 2010s:
#1: MBDTF
#2: TPAB
The rest in no order
good kid maad city, lost in the dream, high violet, blackstar, archandroid, channel orange, let England shake, the suburbs
It could be that Carrie and Lowell or RTJ2 gets in tho.

Re: AMF Favorite Albums of All-Time -- Prediction Thread
I wouldn't be even remotely surprised if Blackstar was ranked ahead of To Pimp a Butterfly. I could also see it bypassing My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, but that seems a lot less likely.
David Bowie has a lot more appeal to this forum than hip-hop does. That's one of the reasons why Kanye finished relatively low (#69) in the last album poll.
I'm also holding onto hope that Good Kid, m.a.a.d. City will be Kendrick's highest ranked album, but I'm not expecting it to happen.

#69 is about the same as MBDTF's AM rating, so it doesn't seem too low to me.Listyguy wrote:I wouldn't be even remotely surprised if Blackstar was ranked ahead of To Pimp a Butterfly. I could also see it bypassing My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, but that seems a lot less likely.

That may be true, but three years ago when the poll happened, a lot of forumers thought the album might crack the top 20.veganvalentine wrote:#69 is about the same as MBDTF's AM rating, so it doesn't seem too low to me.Listyguy wrote:I wouldn't be even remotely surprised if Blackstar was ranked ahead of To Pimp a Butterfly. Re: AMF Favorite Albums of All-Time -- Prediction Thread
I'm most curious where The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady and A Love Supreme placed. As usual, they received several very high votes each but were left off the ballot of most voters. Always hard to know where albums like that wind up.
I'm also hoping Loveless and In the Aeroplane Over the Sea make the top 50 after what I thought was a strong showing in the individual lists.

No one's mentioned this, but doesn't Nevermind have a chance of taking #1?
Also, going off of Jackson I'm hoping ITAOTS reaches the top 100, though there is only a miniscule chance.
