✅ Tsunami Edizioni songs list: 100 great rock ballads - A selection by Marco Garavelli (2017)

Post by Pierre »

And here I was looking at the Le Mot et le Reste thread by lagire, and I told myself "hey, gonna check if Camion Blanc or Tsunami Edizioni didn't release another albums list since the last time I looked", thinking that's no big deal because I'll be the one adding it to the spreadsheet. And now I feel bad, because Tsunami did release a new list, but it's a songs list, and I feel compelled to post it here, as it features "Is This Love", "When It's Love" (I see a pattern here), "Mama, I'm Coming Home", "Who Wants to Live Forever" or "Still Loving You", all top-of-the-pile of my heap of guilty pleasures that make any regular AMer flee toward the horizon in terror. Oh, and because not posting a list featuring "Stairway to Heaven" would be a sacrilege. And that'll be the only one list I'll post because it literally jumped at my face and I don't want to go list hunting or it would cancel my words of wisdom telling StevieFan13 not to go searching for more, as Henrik is already more than busy with what he has.

andyd1010 may or may not be happy at the Avenged Sevenfold selection included (although it doesn't come from City of Evil :P )

Queen deep cuts! I love it. Who Wants to Live Forever may be one of their most over-the-top songs ever. In fact...
Top 10 Hammiest Queen Songs
10. One Vision
9. Princes of the Universe
8. Fat Bottomed Girls
7. Killer Queen
6. Bicycle Race
5. Who Wants to Live Forever
4. Flash Gordon
3. Under Pressure
2. Bohemian Rhapsody
1. Barcelona (technically Freddie solo, but close enough)

With all due respect to a band that I truly admire, associating "hammy" and "Queen" is something of a pleonasm to me :P ;)

Lol, when you're right you're right. Band-wise, they're in my top 5, and considering the other four are Sleater-Kinney, Ben Folds Five, The Beatles, and The Smiths, they've got good competition in the ham department.

Avenged Sevenfold | So Far Away | 2010
Just noticed this...Haha, well that song does come from my 2nd-favorite album of theirs (I just ranked Nightmare 65th in the all-time poll). But other than Seize the Day from City of Evil, which I love, ballads are not really their forte, and I don't care much for So Far Away. Still nice to see them get some recognition. The last two tracks are the biggest reason why Nightmare is a personal favorite of mine.

Well, I'm not sure they'll squeeze in more than City of Evil whenever the album update comes. I've done deep digging, but this album seems to rake in all the acclaim, with Waking the Fallen, Avenged Sevenfold and Nightmare all getting only bits.

I didn't expect them to get any in, so I'll take it, and at least they picked the right one.
