Poeira Zine: 30 great live albums (2008)

Post by Pierre »

Poeira Zine is a Brazilian magazine dedicated to 60s and 70s music. In 2008, they released a special issue to celebrate their fifth anniversary, and joined a list of 30 great live albums. Not much surprise in the selection, especially an hyperclassic top 5.

Found it here:

The title featured, "the 30 best live albums of all time", is not the actual title in the magazine, which is just "30 great live albums chosen for you". Three albums are actually from the 1980s.

| Deep Purple | Made in Japan | 1972
| The Allman Brothers Band | At Fillmore East | 1971
| The Who | Live at Leeds | 1970
| The Rolling Stones | Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out! | 1970
| Thin Lizzy | Live and Dangerous | 1978
| Led Zeppelin | The Song Remains the Same | 1976
| AC/DC | If You Want Blood You've Got It | 1978
| Uriah Heep | Live | 1973
| UFO | Strangers in the Night | 1979
| Lynyrd Skynyrd | One More from the Road | 1976
| Rainbow | On Stage | 1977
| KISS | Alive! | 1975
| Slade | Slade Alive! | 1972
| Scorpions | Tokyo Tapes | 1978
| Queen | Live Killers | 1979
| Iron Maiden | Live After Death | 1985
| Yes | Yessongs | 1973
| Judas Priest | Unleashed in the East | 1979
| Jimi Hendrix | Band of Gypsys | 1970
| Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young | 4 Way Street | 1971
| Free | Free Live! | 1971
| Humble Pie | Performance: Rockin' the Fillmore | 1971
| Grand Funk Railroad | Caught in the Act | 1975
| Peter Frampton | Frampton Comes Alive! | 1976
| Motörhead | No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith | 1981
| Ten Years After | Recorded Live | 1973
| Wishbone Ash | Live Dates | 1973
| Gentle Giant | Playing the Fool | 1977
| Focus | Focus at the Rainbow | 1973
| Rush | Exit... Stage Left | 1981

Considering the period, the lack of Zappa and Grateful Dead is baffling.
