Re: Slant Magazine - The 10 Best Albums of Each Year (1990-1999)
I've had to do the year-by-year lists for Diffuser and Radio X, and I still have to do a bunch for Ultimate Classic Rock and Classic Rock Mag, and some of these stretch for the better part of three decades, so at the very least, this one only takes care of the '90s.Bruno wrote:Why?StevieFan13 wrote:Well, at least it's only one decade.

Though I'm just wondering: for an honorable mention on a top 10 list, would you write it as an "11"?

Yes, it's eligible and 11 is correct. Thanks!
Everyone you meet fights a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always.
Re: Slant Magazine - The 10 Best Albums of Each Year (1990-1999)
I'm actually kinda offended that Madonna's I'm Breathless is supposedly the "fifth best album released in 1990." There's a reason why most Madonna fans consider that one of her worst, excluding "Vogue" and "Sooner or Later (I Always Get My Man)", of course.

Interesting how the 1994 honorable mentions have room for a Deee-Lite album but not Dookie or Definitely Maybe.

Re: Slant Magazine - The 10 Best Albums of Each Year (1990-1999)
babydoll- don't forget the exquisite "Something to Remember," which later became the title track of her ballads compilation. I also quite like "More," and some of the other tracks are fun- but I wouldn't put it in contention as one of her best albums.
At the time, it was definitely a left-field type of album to record. It was inspired by her Breathless character, though, so it's a concept album.
