Many R&B and hip-hop artist lists lately.
Here's some artists/bands I would like the critics to cover:
The Cure
Tom Waits
Steely Dan
Stevie Wonder
Björk
Marvin Gaye
James Brown
Depeche Mode
Talking Heads
Pet Shop Boys
Jacques Brel

I'd also say R.E.M. is due for a 30+ song list at this stage in the game.

You kidding me? I love Depeche Mode! I just think "Enjoy the Silence" isn't their best song (I'd still probably say "Just Can't Get Enough").Henrik wrote:I thought you didn't like Depeche Mode.StevieFan13 wrote:YES. Especially these ones.Henrik wrote:Many R&B and hip-hop artist lists lately.

Believe me, I've been trying to find a 30+ song Stevie Wonder list for a while now. But I'll keep looking! (Technically, one of my personal favorites - Billy Joel - already has two lists that rank every song of his from worst to best, but sadly both are single-critic). And I'll try to check for the other ones as well. Maybe we'll get our new friend Jim Beviglia to help us out.Henrik wrote:If you can find any of those you will get another happy shout from me.

I also remember you saying to someone that they are hard to get into, but ok. It's all good then!StevieFan13 wrote:You kidding me? I love Depeche Mode! Well, if you don't recognize it, it was probably someone else who said it.StevieFan13 wrote:Huh. Maybe I said that. Also: good progress so far - I found a 50-song Cure list! I'm transcribing it right now!

No luck yet with Stevie Wonder, Steely Dan, or Tom Waits. I've got a better chance with Stevie than the other two, so I'll keep looking. I also found a 33-song George Michael list that may or may not only be one writer.

Re: Pitchfork (USA) - Loveeeeeee Songs: Rihanna's 52 Singles, Ranked (2017)
I've found two different lists of Prince songs by Sassan Niasseri - one 69-song list from Musikexpress and one 100-song list from Rolling Stone Germany. I feel like he's sort of a German Rob Sheffield - maybe we should count them anyway? Especially since both are meant to represent the whole publication. But it's your call, and I know that if it's from a website, one writer doesn't count for an artist list.

He also has two 33-song George Michael lists, as it turns out - one from Musikexpress in 2012 and one in German Rolling Stone from 2016 after Michael passed away.

Sadly, except for Depeche Mode and The Cure, I've largely come up short. I found some debatable Prince and George Michael ones, but I'm afraid the others are a little tough to find.Henrik wrote:Many R&B and hip-hop artist lists lately.
