And that's my last post for heavy metal in general too.

I noticed that too, and I was too blasé to give a dang anymore.

All he has on AM right now is "Cat Scratch Fever," and I'll be bummed if something like Double Live Gonzo gets added thanks to these metal lists.

I'm also surprised that the best metal album of the '90s was by ZZ Top, a band that I'm not sure even considers itself metal.

The 90s list is pretty whacky in comparison to what I've seen up to now. ZZ Top at the... err... and many Deep Purple albums, Blue Öyster Cult or Motörhead... I think Mr. Popoff likes the 70s best.

Also, I can understand Nevermind and Superunknown being considered hard rock albums (especially the latter), and to an extent I can also see them as classic rock albums...but metal? Again, pushing it a bit.

He also conveniently ignores the most popular metal album of the '90s, Metallica's Black Album (or is that "the sell-out record"?).

Side note: I've been feeling less and less guilty about the list-posting when I take into account that a good deal of the lists I suggested turned out to be ineligible. You're a lot better on that front.

I can understand that. No matter what, I'm done now, I've completely run out of lists to post, and I don't plan to go searching for new ones. Now I'll just sit there and wait, and help if Henrik asks ;)

Yeah, I don't have much left to post either, so I might as well wait.

The top 500 songs and albums lists from Popoff have been built through polling of many professionals and fans, this last part making these lists unfortunately ineligible. The top 500 songs is available elsewhere on the forum, with a link to the top 500 albums on RYM.

Boo. That would've given them a great boost.

A whole bunch of artist lists by Popoff are on Goldmine Magazine’s website:
https://www.goldminemag.com/author/martin-popoff
The ones that would theoretically be eligible would be:
- Thin Lizzy
- Rainbow
- Rick Derringer
- The Who
- Led Zeppelin
No clue if there’s more.
