Films of the Early 20th Century: 1921-1925

Post by Petri »

Note it's 1921-1925 (5 years) Not 1923-1925 so don't forget the early classics. :)

The rules:

You can post a list of anywhere between 1 and 15 films (or more, but only 15 will be counted) from the period we're covering. The deciding factor in terms of release dates is the RYM list and the top 15 of each period will go on to the final top 150. The deadline is July 31st.

The points scheme is as follows:
1. 50
2. 40
3. 30
4. 20
5. 15
6. 10
7. 9
8. 8
9. 7
10. 6
11. 5
12. 4
13. 3
14. 2
15. 1

However, these are the maximum amounts of points. If you want to put certain films on your list but don't want to give them too many points, you can choose to give these less points than in this scheme (but never more) to decrease the impact on the overall results. If you don't specifically state that you want to give (some of) your films fewer points, I will assume the standard scheme.

Here are some lists to remind you of the films released in this period:
IMDb 1921
IMDb 1922
IMDb 1923
IMDb 1924
IMDb 1925
IMDb 1921 - 1925
RYM 1921
RYM 1922
RYM 1923
RYM 1924
RYM 1925

If you vote for 4 movies or less, this is the adjusted scores:
4 votes
1. Movie 40 p
2. 30 p
3. 20 p
4. 15 p

3 votes
1. Movie 30 p
2. 20 p
3. 15 p

2 votes

2. 15 p

According to IMDb, RYM and Wikipedia One Week is from 1920 (and if I remember correctly you even voted for it in the deleted poll Best movies of 1888-1920 :) )

We decided that movie with more voters will win in case of tie but I noticed Gillingham gave only 10 points to Strike (not the 15 points he could have) so it looks like Phantom Carriage goes to the final because Strike got only 32 points. 15 movies from pre 1921 period sounds a lot so there could be a rule (movies with less than 15 points won't go to the final and the ones that have got the most points and didn't qualify will go to the final instead... or maybe not)...
