What a weird list and concept. Why necessarily "Vinyl" instead of "Album"? And why another list, Philippe Manœuvre? He already has so many in tows, including the "discothèque idéale" books of which this one doesn't seem to be an update.

Besides, the book includes albums that were released as both vinyls and CDs. Then why necessarily vinyl, fetishism aside? I believe one would need to read the book to clarify Manœuvre's purpose with this list.

Thanks!

I wonder if it's the correct Pink Floyd album in the list. "Wish You Were Here" is listed among albums from 1973.

Yeah, I know what you mean Pierre but this book was made for the music store FNAC and furthermore he shares the writing with Jérome Soligny as well. The selection is quite different from his other books too, and well, I flipped through it this morning and it's really well written...What I mean is: It is not because "Pffff it's another book by P.M." that it shouldn't be included in AM...Henrik, concerning the Pink Floyd inclusion, I think it's just a typewriting mistake by TwinPowerForce on Discogs but I will try to check the content of the book tomorrow and let you know... :music-rockon:

Which explains the differences. Thanks for clarifying.

Yeah, I agree, although I think he overproduces in the list department. Probably these books are his best-sellers.

Yes I did...I just come back from LA FNAC and decided to purchase it. It is very instructive and full of anecdotes...It is indeed "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd and sits akwardly at number 37 between T. Rex and Marvin Gaye. Did they choose "Dark Side Of The Moon" from 1973 and changed it at the last minute? No idea. But I had the same doubts as you Henrik when I've seen the list typed on DISCOGS but it is definitely WYWH included...If you need some more info about this book, don't hesitate to ask me as I got it physically on my bookshelf...among other treasures... ;)

o.m. perhaps the comments to WYWH can give you clues? Are the authors talking about TDSOTM or WYWH according to you?

If you can confirm that the list in the book is thoroughly identical to the one on discogs, I will write it down here :)

I thought I had made myself perfectly clear in my previous post...It is EXACTLY the same list as on discogs. WISH YOU WERE is included in the book. It is dated as a 1973 record (instead of 1975) between T.Rex and Marvin Gaye and THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON is NOT included in the book...No problem for clarifying Pierre... :music-listening:
