I personally love Take Pills by Panda Bear, and was surprised when it didn't appear on Acclaimed Music.
What's your pick?

Doncamatic by Gorillaz, as most of you know. To my knowledge, it appeared in a single EOY list and will probably never appear in a critics' list again unless it's for the top Gorillaz songs, and even then its chances are shaky.

Some of my favorites are Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now" (which is a bubbler), Game Theory's "Mammoth Gardens" (by now I'm sure some on the forum are sick or hearing me talk about Game Theory), Johnny Cash's "God's Gonna Cut You Down" (which was released posthumously and was used in a Jeep commercial I believe), Jimi Hendrix's "Stone Free" and "May This Be Love" (I love me some Jimi), Eno's "St. Elmo's Fire" (which I really can't believe isn't here), Biggie's "Suicidal Thoughts", Dylan's "Buckets of Rain", Def Leppard's "Animal" (another bubbler) and the Stooges' "Gimme Danger" (also bubbling). I'm sure there's some I missed but these are most of my absolute favorites not on the list.

Probably Tool-Lateralus.
It's my favorite Tool song for its relation to Fibonacci and being in uncommon time.
The way it soars and spins captures the imagination and informs us how important it is to swing on a spiral.
It makes the album for me. To put it at the center fo the "Holy Gift" puts everything into perspective.

All of the songs from Joanna Newsom's Ys and Have One One Me, though I am pleased to see "Good Intentions Paving Co." on the list.
Re: What is your favorite song NOT included in the AM top 60
Good question.
Maybe Santa Esmeralda's cover of "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood", which was famously used in "Kill Bill".

The biggest absences for me are Rammstein (Especially "Du Hast") and The Magic Numbers (especially "Love Me Like You"). Oh, and "Where The World Begins And Ends" by The Dears; and the "Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World" medley by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole.
Re: What is your favorite song NOT included in the AM top 60
Eric Clapton's "Let It Rain" (my number 13 all-time) and The Who's "The Song Is Over" (my number 14 all-time)

I completely agree with that, especially Emily and Have one on me.notbrianeno wrote:All of the songs from Joanna Newsom's Ys and Have One One Me, though I am pleased to see "Good Intentions Paving Co." on the list.
I also think that Moon in June should appear (it is currently bubbling).

I'd have to go with "I'm Left, You're Right, She's Gone" by Elvis Presley.
Re: What is your favorite song NOT included in the AM top 60
"Whispering Pines" by the Band.

I'd say some soft rock songs, then pop & r&b songs of 90s and 2000s.

"Afraid of Everyone" by The National. #13 all-time
I just wanted to be one of those ghosts
You thought that you could forget
And then I haunt you via the rear view mirror
On a long drive from the back seat...

My #2 of all time : Built to Spill - Velvet Waltz
And my #9 : IAM - Demain c'est Loin
Sufjan Stevens - The Predatory Wasp of the Palisades is Out to Get Us
DJ Shadow - Blood on the Motorway
Built to Spill - Broken Chairs
Pavement - Fillmore Jive
Queen - Don't Stop Me Now
Sufjan Stevens - The Age of Adz
Most surprising omission is for sure Don't Stop Me Now.
My #4 : Queens of the Stone Age - A Song for the Deaf (with its great intro)
(and yes, my top 4 songs are all in a 3/4 time signature)
And my #9 : IAM - Demain c'est Loin
Others in my top 20 :
Sufjan Stevens - The Predatory Wasp of the Palisades is Out to Get Us
DJ Shadow - Blood on the Motorway
Built to Spill - Broken Chairs
Pavement - Fillmore Jive
Queen - Don't Stop Me Now

I have quite a few, so I'm going to go for the 'Unacclaimed' route of choosing songs also not on albums in the top 3000 list.
4. Clifford T. Ward - Home Thoughts from Abroad
54. The Beatles - Only a Northern Song
76. Jackson Browne - Somebody's Baby
95. Dinosaur - Kiss Me Again
Okay, I have to give a link to this one. Absolute banger written and produced by Arthur Russell, with rhythm guitar from David Byrne himself.
134. J.K. and Co - Fly
I'll end here, because if you're going to listen to just one of these, make it this one. It's a stunningly beautiful track from 1969, written and performed by Jay Kaye at the young age of 15. His album, Suddenly One Summer, performed badly since its ambient 30-second intro track was stupidly released as the lead single. Had it been this instead, who knows what might have happened?
