Congratulations to Kendrick Lamar's "King Kunta" for making the Hall of Fame! Really, this song was a shoo-in from the very beginning, so this was only 10 weeks of the inevitable placement of the first hip hop song to gain the title. And so also continue the rally of Hall of Fame inductees. One more week to go, potentially, I suppose. Otherwise, a very fun mix of new songs and old songs in this week's poll. It seems that Grimes and Tame Impala's retirements did indeed stir the pot a bit. Due to Lamar's automatic retirement, and the tie for 11th place, the top 11 songs otherwise went through to this week's chart.

2015 Chart-Toppers by Week (by vote count, not chart position; total weeks atop chart in parentheses):
1. Alvvays - "Archie, Marry Me" (2) / Kanye West feat. Paul McCartney - "Only One"
2. Alvvays - "Archie, Marry Me" (3)
3. Alvvays - "Archie, Marry Me" (4)

5. Alvvays - "Archie, Marry Me" (6)
6. Belle and Sebastian - "Nobody's Empire" (2)
7. Björk - "Black Lake"
8. Björk - "Black Lake" (2)
9. Belle and Sebastian - "Nobody's Empire" (3) / Björk - "Black Lake" (3)
10. Sufjan Stevens - "No Shade in the Shadow of the Cross"
11. Grimes - "REALiTi"
12. Grimes - "REALiTi" (2)
13. Grimes - "REALiTi" (3) / Kendrick Lamar - "King Kunta" / Sufjan Stevens - "No Shade in the Shadow of the Cross" (2)
14. Kendrick Lamar - "King Kunta" (2)
15. Kendrick Lamar - "King Kunta" (3)
16. Grimes - "REALiTi" (4)

18. Grimes - "REALiTi" (6)
19. Kendrick Lamar - "King Kunta" (4)
20. Grimes - "REALiTi" (7)
21. Kendrick Lamar - "King Kunta" (5) / Sufjan Stevens - "Fourth of July"

2015 Hall of Fame (10 weeks of advancing votes; automatically retired from chart):
Björk - "Black Lake" (Weeks 4 - 13)
Courtney Barnett - "Pedestrian at Best" (Weeks 5 - 14)
Father John Misty - "I Love You, Honeybear" (Weeks 7 - 16)
Sufjan Stevens - "No Shade in the Shadow of the Cross" (Weeks 8 - 17)
Courtney Barnett - "Depreston" (Weeks 10 - 19)
Grimes - "REALiTi" (Weeks 11 - 20)
Tame Impala - "Let It Happen" (Weeks 11 - 20)
Kendrick Lamar - "King Kunta" (Weeks 12 - 21)

Here is this week's 17-song Spotify chart (with 3 songs included below via YouTube link):

Here is your 2015 AMF Chart playlist of all songs on the chart so far this year:

Thank you all for voting and nominating continuously every week! Please don't be afraid to supply us with nominations - all songs six months old and younger (or who have received promotion via album/video/single in the last six months) are accepted! And seconding nominations by others' gives those songs a better chance at making the next poll!

As per usual, the next poll will be created as close to Sunday at 19:00 UTC as I can make it. Best of voting! :D

Hi Vince! Welcome to the Forum, and thanks very much for participating in our little poll 8-)

The nominating process is simple - all you have to do is verbally nominate a song in this topic. You can nominate as many as you want any week too. You'll see people posting "I nominate ______." And that's pretty much all you have to do! Seconding someone else's nominations works basically the same way: "I second the nomination for ______."

The process of how nominations are selected for the following week's poll are relatively simple most of the time. On weeks without MegaCritic charts, it basically goes:

1. Any song that has received a seconded nomination (in order of time posted in thread).

2. The first nomination by each poster in the topic (in order of time posted).

3. The second nomination by each poster in the topic (in order of time posted).

And so on. MegaCritic weeks (when OtisRedding posts his semimonthly MegaCritic chart) makes things more complicated. But I'll write a formal process of how I determine those soon, as I've been meaning to clarify it for everyone.

This week I'd like to nominate Zella Day - 'Sweet Ophelia'. I just saw her this weekend at the Bottlerock festival in Napa. Extremely talented and entertaining new talent. ( and extremely HOT too!) :-P

I'm pretty sure those 2 songs were already on the poll.

It's nice to see a popular song popped up here once in a while (Bad Blood).
This week I'll go for:
Muse - Reapers
Mourn - Gertrudis, Get Through This!
Circuit des Yeux - Do the Dishes

Sorry Romain, great song but I think I nominated it awhile back and it may have made it through for one week. Truly I think it got ahead of it's time. Great track from a very very good album.

I'd like to throw Twenty One Pilots - 'Not Today' into the mix. I believe it has elements that are in every popular pop song today, (but in a good way). :?
