What is the list about?

Post by Henrik »

I want to reintroduce a game we played many years ago. It's probably called something else usually, but anyway I called it "What is the list about?".

Anyone can present an AM-related list of 5-ish items, and then rest of us will guess what the list is about.

OK, here's one for you:

1. Trout Mask Replica
2. Bitches Brew
3. If You're Feeling Sinister
4. Roxy Music or Metal Box or We're Only In It for the Money (depending on how you see it)
5. Metal Box or We're Only In It for the Money or Another Green World
Everyone you meet fights a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always.

None of these albums have songs in the top 6000!

I bet you have to be more specific with your answer, cos why would it have the options depending on viewpoint. I can't think of anything though.

Also, I have come up with a list. People can still answer to the first list. I hope I have understood this game correctly.

1. Trout Mask Replica
2. Rock Bottom
3. Faust
4. The Velvet Underground & Nico
5. The Doors

Correct! The most acclaimed album with no songs in the top 6000.

I think the options depending on viewpoint comes from the fact that some versions of the albums Henrik listed have songs in the top 6000 while other versions do not.

Top artists and the albums are the ones that preceded their masterpiece?

Edit: Gosh dang it all! I did not see Henrik's post.

A new list:
1. Paul Simon - Graceland
2. Stevie Wonder - Songs in the Key of Life

Clue: Not AM-related.

Also if someone can think of some other meaning, I will prolly accept that too.

Another list, this time unordered:

Daft Punk - Random Access Memories
Kanye West - Yeezus
Atoms for Peace - Amok
Deerhunter - Monomania

That's only a part of the answer.

As a clue I would say that if you were to only look at Acclaimed Music, there would be almost no way of knowing this. That's why I posted about this to the error thread, which does contain the answer.

So that kinda makes this non-AM-related again, even though I didn't mean it to be.
