20. Tobias Jesso Jr. - "How Could You Babe" (1)
Total Votes: 118

The top 10 songs from last week's chart went on to this week's. As I mentioned in the last topic, I re-arranged some of the rules involving MegaCritic selections to include more of our own nominations, since there have been so many great ones as of recent. I'll point those out in the next post. It's also worth mentioning that Alvvays has now met Sharon Van Etten's record with five consecutive chart-topping weeks. A Hall of Fame-worthy act if I've ever seen one. Well, another one.

2015 Chart-Toppers by Week (by vote count, not chart position; total weeks atop chart in parentheses):
1. Alvvays - "Archie, Marry Me" (2) / Kanye West feat. Paul McCartney - "Only One"
2. Alvvays - "Archie, Marry Me" (3)
3. Alvvays - "Archie, Marry Me" (4)
4. Alvvays - "Archie, Marry Me" (5) / Belle and Sebastian - "Nobody's Empire"

2014 Hall of Fame (10 weeks of advancing votes; automatically retired from chart):
St. Vincent - "Digital Witness" (Week 1-14)
Warpaint - "Love Is to Die" (Week 1-11)
Sun Kil Moon - "Richard Ramirez Died Today of Natural Causes" (Week 2-14)
tUnE-yArDs - "Water Fountain" (Week 9-18)
Future Islands - "Seasons (Waiting on You)" (Week 10-19)
The War on Drugs - "Under the Pressure" (Week 10-19)
Lana Del Rey - "West Coast" (Week 15-24)
The Black Keys - "Weight of Love" (Week 16-25)
Owen Pallett - "The Riverbed" (Week 17-26)
Jon Allen - "Night and Day" (Week 18-27)
First Aid Kit - "My Silver Lining" (Week 19-28)
Spoon - "Do You" (Week 22-31)
Interpol - "All the Rage Back Home" (Week 25-34)
Röyksopp & Robyn - "Every Little Thing" (Week 27-36)
Sun Kil Moon - "Micheline" (Week 28-37)
Leonard Cohen - "Almost Like the Blues" (Week 31-40)
Sharon Van Etten - "Our Love" (Week 31-40)
Spoon - "Outlier" (33-42)
Sharon Van Etten - "Every Time the Sun Comes Up" (41-4)

Songs that entered the chart in 2014 will be added to the 2014 Hall of Fame, rather than the 2015 Hall of Fame.

Here is this week's 18-song Spotify chart (with 2 songs included below via YouTube link):

Here is your 2015 AMF Chart playlist of all songs on the chart so far this year:

Thank you all for voting and nominating continuously every week! Please don't be afraid to supply us with nominations - all songs six months old and younger (or who have received promotion via album/video/single in the last six months) are accepted! And seconding nominations by others' gives those songs a better chance at making the next poll!

As per usual, the next poll will be created as close to Sunday at 19:00 GMT as I can make it. Best of voting! :D

Alright, so per Doc's suggestion, which I really fancied, here's how I determined pickings for this week:

1. Songs that received at least two nominations (seconding) in last week's poll.

2. The top songs from MegaCritic album additions that didn't already have a song pick in the chart previously.

3. The first nominations for voters in last week's poll.

If going through those three processes wouldn't produce enough songs in future weeks, I'll continue by going (4) top song picks from MegaCritic albums that already have songs in the poll, (5) the second nominations for voters in last week's poll, etc. Effectively, it's like treating each new album in MegaCritic as submitting their own nominations, however if one of the songs has already been in the poll, it effectively nullifies that choice.

So using that method, only two albums were fresh to the poll (Ghost Culture and Napalm Death). Not sure if this will satisfy everyone, (or if it even makes sense in my words) though, as we did miss out on some great potential nominations in the process. It seems fair enough to me, but then I'm just one man. Feedback! Always appreciated.

Ay, carumba! Thank you Captain Obvious! This weeks song list is so good that I am unable to vote for not one, not two, but three songs I originally nominated! Toughest week of voting ever!

I like your Solomonic solution to the too-many-nominees problem; in essence that MCCh becomes a fellow nominator (although one with an edge over us mere mortals, as all of its nominees will precede unseconded nominations). Gives us more motivation to second our fellow nominations as well.

I have a terrible fear that somewhere in the months ahead we will have a ballot with twelve songs by the dread Yeezy. :o

I also want to commend everyone who regularly nominates on the chart due to their ongoing recency bias. A great amount of our nominations lately have been from singles, music videos, or albums that have come out only in the last few weeks (a lot of them are even from brand new songs)! While there's nothing wrong with nominating songs from five-month old albums, I find the freshness of our chart really fun, and very socially relevant to what our music tastes are.

Which is also the argument for why I didn't want to extend the nomination period anything longer than what it currently is, and even considered suggesting shortening it

I'll second your nomination too! I have had that album on all week and this is one of the highlights. The music video is awful though.

I also want to nominate Gaz Coombes 20/20.

Well, Setherex, even though the temptation to still nominate a 2014 song (Continental Shelf by Viet Cong, a real masterpiece) is very present, you know that I do agree with you to keep the chart fresh and crunchy, so I pick 3 songs from the big assortiment of great new 2015 stuff:

1. Asaf Avidan - My Tunnels Are Long And Dark These Days
(theme from the next James Bond?)
2. Sharon van Etten - I Don't Want To Let You Down
(yes indeed, her brand new single)
3. Unknown Mortal Orchestra - Multi-Love
(the equally titled album comes out in May, this track is already on Spotify)

My day before reminder to get those votes, nominations, secondings in before tomorrow's new poll!

Seconding Unknown Mortal Orchestra's "Multi-Love." Throwing in:
Big Sean feat. Drake & Kanye West - "Blessings"
Matthew E. White - "Tranquility"
Makthaverskan - "Witness"

I think I'd like a spin of Rhiannon Gidden's take on "Don't Let It Trouble Your Mind" next week. And I'll second Setherex's nomination of "Witness".
