Post your favourite songs outside the AM Top 6000

Post by Honorio »

I was trying to do my song-per-year list for this very interesting thread but I though… and what about a list of our favourite songs per year not in AM Top 6000? It is still possible after the massive update? Let's see it.
In my case I removed the Spanish songs that would have made it much easier for me (and I added a second rule, see at the end). I decided to post it Mindrocker-style (adding styles and countries) and I even decided to create this new thread to see if some people are willing to post their own lists (sorry Listyguy for creating a branch of your thread but I though it could be interesting).

My list:

3. The Alan Parsons Project - Old and Wise
4. Lady Lamb the Beekeeper - Bird Balloons
5. Ennio Morricone - L'Estasi dell'Oro (A.K.A. The Ecastasy of Gold)

The top 4 are actually in my all time top 10. Film music does a good job here.

And the 10 favorite bubblers:

1. Ennio Morricone - Il Buono, Il Brutto, Il Cattivo (A.K.A. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly)
2. Deep Purple - Child In Time

I’ve made my list following the same rules as Honorio (the Mindrocker-style, and excluding Spanish songs), except one: that of only include one song per artist.

I also made a second list as our friend Dan, with songs not sung in English (or instrumental tracks from artists not Anglo-Saxons), but with a different approach: as in the list 1, I don't include Spanish songs (if I did so, it would be ninety percent of the list) and that are not in the top 6000.

And finally, I have another idea: another "one per year" list with songs in English, but composed and performed by artists who are not Anglo-Saxons (I'll post it as soon as possible).

Actually, I think "La Mauvaise Réputation", "La Poupée qui fait non" and "Je suis venu te dire que je m'en vais" are in the top 6000 ;)

Great lists otherwise!

¡Muchas gracias, Honorio!.

I've seen your recent (and amazing) contributions in the "Covered by David Bowie & The Beatles" and "Most Acclaimed Covers / Remakes". It always happens the same thing every time I read your penultimate post, I think "this is unbeatable" .... but reading the last one I check I'm wrong again. :|

About the "Most Acclaimed Covers / Remakes" I will try to develop a more complete list that what I published years ago - I'm sure you remember that thread - .... but clarifying that are not "covers better than the original versions", but "covers I like more than the original versions" (I don't want to have problems with Bruce) :? .

And yes, I still have to finish that "one per year" list with songs in English, but composed and performed by artists who are not Anglo-Saxons.
