Thoughts about Katy Perry's new song

Hello,
I just listen to the song "Woman's World" by Katy Perry. It just doesn't pass the vibe check. The lyrics feel very girlboss white feminism of 2016. Sure, perhaps the intent there is genuine. But if Katy wants to release that kind of song, she needed to evolve a bit as an artist and consider the lyrics more carefully. poppy playtime chapter 3
Personally I would much prefer a pop song that doesn't pretend to be deep or feminist to a song like Katy's new one which swings and misses. It gives me the ick.

I was a fan, I saw her live in 2014 and still think her Prism album is great! I know she can do better. That's what so frustrating...it's Katy Perry, somewhere deep within her are bops waiting to manifest so it sucks when this is what she serves us.

I don’t think it’s genuine. It’s giving very basic mainstream
pop trying to capitalize off of feminism. But, I hope that this
controversy doesn’t get to her head the way it did to Sia when the movie thing happened. Sometimes I wish she stuck with
the alternative rock she used to make in the mid-2000s which
much of it haven’t seen the light of day. But I’m kind of
grateful that she went pop because if she didn’t she wouldn’t
have left her impact on pop music. But yeah her career is over.

I see where you're coming from, but I think the song might still resonate with people who are new to Katy's music or who haven't heard similar themes done before.

She’s working with Dr Luke again and acting like her flop era never happened. It’s like she hopped in a Time Machine that didn’t work and hopped back out thinking it was 2012.
