Along with that one Swedish list, The Boss's prospects in the next update are looking quite good. The #1 choice is as obvious as it gets, but I must say that the rest of the list is fairly interesting. That voting panel is odd to say the least, but, then again, every RS panel appears to be.

Artist-specific lists don't carry the same weight as regular lists, though, correct? So, not sure how much of an impact this list would have.

Actually, that was wrong.

And no explanation, other than to say that was wrong? :D

I thought because songs on artists lists were only compared against that act's own songs, that they didn't have the same kind of impact as non-artist lists.

;)

There is a penalty for "narrow lists" but it's not huge, so artist lists might have a lot of impact for the songs by the artist in question. They don't affect the songs of other artists of course.

It's the same thing as if I include an EOY list, or a decade list. A Beatles list is not more narrow than an EOY list, as the number of Beatles songs on AM is similar to recent years. For Paste's list of Wilco songs the narrow-penalty is bigger, and for The Boss it's somewhere inbetween.

Speaking of artist-specific lists, any thoughts about whether those Neil Young, Beach Boys, and Bowie lists from Mojo I posted are eligible? What about some other artist lists, like the Madonna one and those batch of lists featuring Prince and Smiths songs that was posted awhile back? I'll go ahead and bump that thread. Thank you for clarifying the Springsteen list, Henrik. :)

Gotcha, Henrik- thanks for the clarification. :)

Makes sense that artists lists wouldn't impact songs by other acts directly, but in affecting an act's own tracks, it causes them to (possibly) jump other tracks in rank, so there's an indirect effect of sorts- if that makes sense. ;)

Wow, everyone wants to make their Boss list now it seems. I don't think this one is eligible for AM though, as it seems to be by a single critic.
