Given most people haven't heard non-Anglophone bands, I think for this tournament it'd be hard to include them. (But there are great AM games for that!) Maybe something can be done to keep bands from less popular genres from having to compete with bands from more popular genres. e.g., keep the indie bands out of the country groups. Maybe there's a way to use internet resources to group them by which bands have the most fans in common?

Is there a classical group?

What happens in the second round? Will the genres be combined into new broader genres or will there be a new type of brackets?

There are 8 Regionals made up of the winners in 4 of the genres. In the regionals you will vote 1-10 and the top 16 advance into the head-to-head portion of the tournament.

I enjoy Bowie quite a bit, but think that he is generally over-rated. I will admit that during the 70's I did not fully appreciate Bowie's work with Brian Eno, but it has grown on me over the past two decades or so.

Y&T had 3 votes worth 5 points... I accidentally had Ratt listed twice. Too much Ratt & Roll I guess.
