It's surprising to me, running the songs poll for 2019, how many of the songs that perform very well here perform horribly there. Some hall of famers with barely any votes in the 2019 songs poll are:

"Now I'm in It" by HAIM
"i'm not where you are" by Marika Hackman
"Death Stranding" by Chvrches
"Love Yourself" by Sufjan Stevens
"Social Cues" by Cage the Elephant
"It Might Be Time" by Tame Impala

Anywho, I'll nominate both:

Soccer Mommy - "Circle the Drain"
Mitski - "Cop Car"

The inverse can be true as well- Cellophane and Final Form didn't last more than a week on here, while Juice bowed out after 3.

I'd have thought the Chart disproportionately benefited the lesser efforts of popular artists but FKA twigs has a following on the forum and Cellophane is a strong track, so I don't understand why it didn't gain traction here.

I don't have a nomination or much of a point, I just thought I'd join in the musing.

Can your show only be heard live? I got to your page on the site but I couldn't see any link to listen to previous shows. I did see that you count down the Weekly Chart on it, though!

At the moment, yes, but it should be repeated a couple of times a week - will let you know when I have regular time slots for that. I do count down - and play - the AMF Weekly Chart top 10 every week in the second half of the show, after playing my favourite new(ish) releases in the first hour.

Will look forward to hearing when you've got repeat slots or next week's show if no news before :music-rockon:

Nice! The early times are too ambitious for me at the minute but I'll aim to catch it on Tuesday afternoon.

I will nominate after all: Wire - Hung

That's a relief, I can count on 2 votes for it this week then :D The album's not yet fully found its way into my affections but Hung's unresolved tension got me hooked on first listen!

Just listened to it and this is the first "great" album of 2020. Wire can pull out a stunner after 40 years of existence. There are some duds in the middle of the album, but it starts really well and Hung is something else.

That's alright, I meant to check it was working and forgot myself... I thoroughly recommend The Alternative Nineties Show, which is on 5-6pm on Thursdays, just before me.

Top show, TLE! Liked that second song of Scratchy Beard i.e. Don't Lose Today :music-listening:

Possible suggestion for Weekly Chart Countdown--you could say something like "If you want to influence next week's chart, you can by signing up to AMF" only less corny than my wording. You might have a more Stratford skew to the Weekly Chart that way but at least you'd see a boost in turnout!
