Do you have to like lyrics more than melody to think that "All Too Well" is Taylor Swift's best song, because I think that's how Rob Sheffield works. The tune seemed pretty average to me.

Shocked at how many actually great picks are in this. God in Chicago, Night Shift, Archie Marry Me, and Stoned and Starving in the top 50 were not something I expected.

Also, I gotta say, Dancing on My Own is not one of my favorite tracks and I'll be quite disappointed if the top song of the decade winds up being one that wasn't a part of my own personal decade at all.

It's great to have "Dancing On My Own" at the top, which is infinitely higher than "Get Lucky" if Robyn tops the AM list for me, it's great !!!

I really hate to admit this considering this publication's history, but their EOD lists have been superb. This is one of those lists which you can look at and say "hey, this really were the songs of the decade".

I feel like with Jann Wenner out of the equation, Rolling Stone is slowly on the road back to being a respectable publication, which is a blessing. Remember, this was the magazine that really jump started popular music criticism. It may never be interesting in the same way it was when Paul Nelson and Lester Bangs were writing for them, but I really do think that Rolling Stone has taken a turn for the better lately. Their record reviews and cultural reportage the last two years have also been great.

Also - these lists have given me a new respect for songs such as Dancing On My Own and Oblivion They've even made it to my personal EOD top ten.

I am not surprised by the rise of Taylor Swift's Red / "All Too Well". There were signs of this occurring since the release of the album in 2012. Also, I feel like "All Too Well" is the song of the decade for women (true, largely due to the lyrics, I mean Swift IS a singer-songwriter at heart), and that is not being fully appreciated by us forumers, who are mainly men who listen to the underground.

Also, I approve of "Mariners Apartment Complex" as the top LDR song. It is easily my favorite song from NFR, and could potentially rise to become my personal favorite from her catalogue as well.

I'll agree that this is a pretty great list (rolling my eyes a bit at including Cruise in any form, but whatever). A little bit surprised that there's only one Kendrick song, but I'm pleased with how high it is.
