The Best Soundalike For....

Post by Hymie »

This thread is for posting a record where you say that it is the best soundalike for a particular artist.

Here's what I mean. This is the best soundalike for Sam Cooke:

I have confused the voices of Elton John and Father John Misty a couple of times too many already. It doesn't help that they both have the piano as their favorite instrument.

Mott The Hoople "All The Young Dudes" certainly sounds like Bowie, but that doesn't qualify since he wrote and produced it. Is there a good Bowie soundalike that he was not involved with?

I dig it. Thanks for sharing. I also like "Nena 72," though it is heavily influenced by Santana's recordings of "Oye Como Va" and "Samba Pa Ti."
But it's not that surprising that they sound similar once you find out Carlos's younger brother is the bandleader. They probably heard a ton of the same music growing up (and probably jammed together a lot, too).

I was eating at a Mexican restaurant, and it sounded like the Police had continued all these years as a rock en español band.
