When can we do a Top 100 TV Shows?

Post by letmeintomyzone »

We done one for all the main mediums, and we're close to the finish for books. When can we do a TV show one? Even though I know people have suggested this, I'm wondering when can we make it a reality.

I restarted my "Acclaimed Television" project last Sunday the 15th and have been trying to work at least an hour on it per day since.

I've gathered 176 lists from 11 different sources, so its in a pretty early stage. I'm also considering non-professional publications like YouTube Channels, with the arbitrary restriction of at least 500,000 subscribers. This might seem like a bad idea, but I think it allows the public to be represented a bit more. With my current calculations, these types of lists won't have that great of an impact anyway, especially since they tend to be on the short side.

Here's what the top 50 looks like so far:

1. The Simpsons
2. Game of Thrones
3. Seinfeld
4. South Park
5. The Sopranos
6. M*A*S*H
7. The Wire
8. Breaking Bad
9. The Twilight Zone
10. Friends
11. Saturday Night Live
12. All in the Family
13. Mad Men
14. I Love Lucy
15. Cheers
16. Beavis and Butt-Head
17. Batman: The Animated Series
18. Star Trek
19. The Ren & Stimpy Show
20. Law & Order
21. The X-Files
22. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
23. Sesame Street
24. The Honeymooners
25. The Mary Tyler Moore Show
26. Futurama
27. Monty Python's Flying Circus
28. The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson
29. Late Night with David Letterman
30. Veep
31. The West Wing
32. Cowboy Bebop
33. Arrested Development
34. Late Show with David Letterman
35. Lost
36. Family Guy
37. The Daily Show
38. Twin Peaks
39. Freaks and Geeks
40. ER
41. Sex and the City
42. SpongeBob SquarePants
43. Curb Your Enthusiasm
44. Neon Genesis Evangelion
45. The Larry Sanders Show
46. Columbo
47. X-Men (1992)
48. Avatar: The Last Airbender
49. The Tick
50. The Transformers

I expect major changes as this continues. My own algorithms might need some tweaking...
Also, poor Doctor Who. It was in the top 10 for the longest time, but it recently dropped to 86.
