The American Healthcare Act/Ryancare/Trumpcare would not address the opioid problem in the U.S.

There's no bruises or anything on the girl that was supposedly raped by two illegal immigrants. The defense attorney is saying the sex was consensual.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Nazi_Germany
"The German economy, like those of many other western nations, suffered the effects of the Great Depression with unemployment soaring around the Wall Street Crash of 1929.[1] When Hitler became Chancellor in 1933, he introduced policies aimed at improving the economy. The changes included privatization of state industries, autarky, and tariffs on imports. Wages increased by 10.9% in real terms during this period.[2] However, reduced foreign trade meant rationing in consumer goods like poultry, fruit, and clothing for many Germans.[3]
In 1934 Hjalmar Schacht, the Reich Minister of Economics, introduced the Mefo bills, allowing Germany to rearm without spending Reichsmarks but instead paying industry with Mefo bills (Government IOU's) which they could trade with each other.[4] Between 1933 and 1939 the total revenue amounted to 62 billion marks, whereas expenditure (at times comprising up to 60% rearmament costs) exceeded 101 billion, thus causing a huge deficit and national debt (reaching 38 billion marks in 1939 and coinciding with Kristallnacht [November 1938] and with intensified persecutions of Jews and the outbreak of World War II.)[5][6] By 1938 unemployment was practically extinct"

Sure. I mean when my entire world view has been turned upside down, it is kind of a big deal. It is still true for everyone that big things are happening RIGHT NOW. Trump and Ryan are trying to pass a new healthcare system that would have potentially disastrous consequences for America.

I mean, I get that the US is the most powerful and influential country in the world, but I always think it's somewhat fascinating that people from different countries can take such a strong interest in our politics.
I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about current events but I could tell you nothing about the politics of Finland for instance.

I had an American girlfriend that was possibly an American spy and injected me with conservative propaganda. When Trump started his campaign, he brought on a lot of people that weren't interested in politics before.Nick wrote:I mean, I get that the US is the most powerful and influential country in the world, but I always think it's somewhat fascinating that people from different countries can take such a strong interest in our politics.

I'm not making much sense and that spy theory sounds crazy, but for sure there are some American spies around the world. Think about it. The world has 200 countries. Let's say you have like five spies per country. That's only like 1000 people that are spies.
For example in Finland there's this theory that Russia is trying to influence the minds of the Finns. I thought at first it was complete hogwash, but now I think that might be true. But the good thing is it's failing. The Finns have possibly the most negative view about the Russians in the world. We haven't forgot WW2, where we fought against the Russians.
I mean Putin literally took Crimea. By making the people believe that they should be a part of Russia.

I don't know. I think Trump might be just incompetent. And now that GOP have Senate, House and presidency, they're trying to push a kind of a radical agenda.
Edit: Or like maybe they're trying to push an agenda that doesn't fix the problems for average folks, cos that way they can keep being politicians and act like they're trying to solve the problems. Trump on the other hand, he's a complete wildcard. Trump card.

It's crazy. Like 30% of the American people like the new proposed healthcare plan. I'm optimistic that it won't go through. But then what? Is there gonna be a new version? Maybe not. Maybe Trump will leave Obamacare in place, which would actually make his supporters angry and then he's in big trouble. Tough times for Trump.

Trump might be just in over his head. Kind of like Ronald Reagan, although with Reagan it was more at the end of his presidency. The strength of Reagan is he hired competent people around him and let them make the decisions. Trump is doing that, but the problem is that the people he hired maybe aren't that competent.

One difference between Hitler and Trump is Hitler failed at a lot of things in his life before becoming a leader, whereas Trump has had success (whether that's because of competence or luck is a different matter).

I still think is true that only Trump can protect gay rights in America in a way (and that's a screwed up situation). I believe he wants to leave them as is/increase them, but the old-school Republicans have a different idea, and that's who Trump has surrounded himself with.
Like Neil Gorsuch might be the scariest character in this aspect, as he has not been that good to gay rights historically.

6) Mistaken. DIdn't matter.

Yeah, you're right prolly. At the time of the election I thought she would maybe start WW3 against Russia, but of course 99.9% that's not the case. I mean her policy regarding Middle East was basically to fight everyone. She also liked the idea of toppling down foreign governments in an effort to make them democracies.JimmyJazz wrote:First claim: ...Source? But you are prolly right. I am still in a somewhat fragile state, and I'm trying to find out what's real and what's not. All I know is humanity is the right answer, and that's what we all can agree on.

Re: SERIOUS: Your wildest nightmares might've been true about Trump.
Actually what might be happening is Putin is the bad guy. If Trump is Mussolini and Putin is Stalin, I mean that's a theory that might be correct. "Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it."
So there's Trump, Putin, radical Islamic ideology. The three evils.
North Korea is another evil, but I wouldn't classify it as big as the other two or three.
In terms of what is a threat:
1) Putin
2) Trump
3) radical Islamic ideology, meaning people who wanna kill people. But of course every person who wants to kill a person is bad. So maybe it's not fair after all to single out this third option like this.
4) North Korea

In case someone comes here and says radical Islamic ideology is not bad, it's well documented that ISIS kills people around the world weekly.
But maybe it's not that big of a problem after all. I'm still waking up from conservative propaganda.

There are underlying causes to radical islamic ideology, one being what happened on 9/11 and then the U.S. started a war in the Middle East and destabilized the Middle East. It's a chain of bad events.
