It appears he has listed the rank of films 1001-2000, but not in a sortable manner...

Most important part of the update: Empire is gone from the top 1000 again.

I haven't had a good look through, but I was very excited by Children of Men being the highest newly ranked film at #627. Really need to watch that again.

Edit: wait, is 2011 the latest release on the list? is that right? I see one 2013 film at #1440

I think this is a great list but one thing about this list is that they count lists that came out before a movie was released against the movie. The only serious changes to the list happen when a new Sight & Sound all time comes out once every ten years, otherwise, most we see is this 6-7 exchange we saw this year.

Bicycle Thieves passed Battleship Potempkin 14-13, which I agree with because Bicycle Thieves is my #1 all time.

Do not understand how Fanny and Alexander fell 9 places on so few lists being added.

Satantango replaces Intolerance in the top 100, which I am very in favor of.

Children of Men is in my top 10 AT so happy to see it as the highest debut in a year when most films barely moved on the list.

There's definitely problems in methodology. Acclaimed music only counts lists against music that existed at the time of the list, not the case for TSPDT. But also TSPDT is the only list that favors art movies over America-centric entertainment, so it's extremely useful for finding great films.

I went to check this out (because I think Elf is awesome) and saw that the movie is listed as German.

How can this be? Elf was directed by an American, distributed by an American company, stars American actors, was filmed in America, and is entirely in English, the most common language in America. So...what gives?
