Baby Driver

Post by BleuPanda »

Has anyone else seen this yet? The movie overall was fantastic, but for this forum especially, I want to state that it has some of the best uses of music I've ever seen in a movie.

The way Edgar Wright uses the music in the film - essentially, the entire movie is actually shot, edited, and choreographed to the rhythm of the songs on the soundtrack - is so brilliant, and the songs themselves so expertly selected, that I'm willing to forgive the basic shallowness of the storyline and characters (although not so much the - in my opinion - way-too-drawn-out and way-too-action-movie-conventional climax). If you're a music geek (and you wouldn't be here unless you are) you need to see this movie.

I don't want to spoil anything, but I will say this: until I saw this movie, I never realized how badly I'd always wanted to see a car-and-foot chase sequence scored to "Hocus Pocus" by Focus.

I saw it this weekend and I liked it a lot. It's a lot of fun. The is music is pretty good and very relevant to the story. The ending could have been better. Just turned a little too cliched for me.

I was a bit disappointed, it's not a bad movie by any rate but I love the other Edgar Wright movies to death and this seemed very slightly subpar. I lacked the awesome visual comedy of his other movies and at times the fit between music and image was too subtle (though I usually love the subtlety of his visual cues so I'm a bit unfair)
Still, lot of fun, great soundtrack, cool characters, Jamie Foxx is successfully chilling and Jon Hamm is fantastic. (Kevin Spacey is a bit too much on autopilot though)

This was some movie. The sound tracks included in it are worth listening to. I am really impressed by this amazing blockbuster. I own Ansel Elgort Bomber Jacket from this movie which he wore while driving. Really cool. Visit here: https://goo.gl/fv5xaf
