Kim Hunter and Tab Hunter are included but not the most important Hunter of them all, Holly Hunter?

Otherwise, really good list even if they also forgot Tony Leung and Chishu Ryu.

Not to mention Ellen Burstyn, David Carradine, John Cazale, Leslie Cheung, Glenn Close, Danielle Darrieux, Madhuri Dixit, Robert Duvall, Ed Harris, Diane Lane, Fernanda Montenegro, Joe Pesci, Hannah Schygulla, Jacques Tati and Alida Valli to name a few.

On the one hand it's a pleasant surprise to see not so obvious names like Klaus Maria Brandauer, Gong Li and Louis De Funès. On the other hand they managed to overlook the greatest American actress of the current century: Scarlett Johansson. And where is Bibi Andersson?

They remembered Robin Williams, the GOAT, and that's what's important.

I think this was made before Scarlett Johansson was well-known as a dramatic actress - I would've included others like Ryan Reynolds or Jennifer Lawrence, but none of them had hit their stride yet.

Pretty sure the "Toto" in question here is a legendary Italian comedic actor: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tot%C3%B2

I was looking at this list for preparation to create the final list and I saw this.

Why wouldn't they include Robin Williams by this time? Entertainment Weekly named him one of the 100 greatest movie stars of all time in 1996 and he had already won an Oscar, made tons of box office hits and was already a pop culture icon.

Anyway, I just thought I would inform you that Scarlett Johansson's most acclaimed roles actually came before 2007. Ghost World was released in 2001; Lost in Translation and Girl with a Pearl Earring both was released in 2003; Match Point was released in 2005. Seriously, Lost in Translation may end up being the role she's going to be best remembered for.

Also Jennifer Lawrence wasn't even making movies by then. If this list was updated, then yeah, totally, she'd make this in a heartbeat. I am not too sure about if Ryan Reynolds would be included, though.

Yeah, I was saying that it makes sense. He's my favorite actor, and they left out a bunch of famous ones that I might've included instead.

You have a point. I was mostly thinking of her recent sci-fi successes like Lucy or Under the Skin (and Her is pretty sci-fi-ish). But those roles are probably the ones she'll best most well-remembered for. Which makes it all the more surprising that she didn't make the cut.

What I meant was that she'd make the cut if they updated it. And yeah, maybe not Ryan Reynolds. Chris Pratt, maybe? I can think of a bunch of actors who've risen to fame in recent years that could be retroactively added to this list. Off the top of my head:
Chris Pratt
Jennifer Lawrence
Bradley Cooper
Alicia Vikander
Zoe Saldana
Bryan Cranston (his movie stuff less so than his TV stuff, but he's stellar in pretty much anything he does)
Robert Downey Jr.
Anna Kendrick
Emma Stone
Viola Davis
David Oyelowo
Julianne Moore (OK, she's been famous for a while, but how the hell did they forget to put her here?)
Tina Fey

Yeah, no, Ryan Reynolds has a better filmography, better presence, better acting skills, and better chance to have a legacy. Chris Pratt is kinda lacking in all departments, to be honest. I totally forgot he was in Parks & Recreation. He was a series regular of a show I frequently watched AND I forgot him. That's not good.

Julianne Moore (OK, she's been famous for a while, but how the hell did they forget to put her here?)
Tina Fey
Chris Pratt - Nixed him.
Jennifer Lawrence - She will totally be included in this list.
Bradley Cooper - Sadly, yes. Honestly, one of my least favorite actors, but I cannot deny his career and its potentiality to be remembered several decades from now.
Alicia Vikander - Too soon. Potential for sure, but too soon.
Zoe Saldana - I spy a Guardians of the Galaxy fan. However, I don't think she necessarily has a good career to be remembered despite her starring in the highest grossing film of all time (and being one of its highlights.) Hell, she needs a more memorable celebrity image.
Bryan Cranston - Nah. He's the Mary Tyler Moore of our times. I mean that positively, too.
Robert Downey, Jr. - Hey! He's already included in this list.
Anna Kendrick - Good chance. However, I hope she'll move away from Pitch Perfect. The idea that they're going to do a third film when the first one would have sufficed on its own is ridiculous.
Emma Stone - Same place as Jennifer Lawrence.
Viola Davis - I would advocate for her inclusion, because she has proven herself to be one of the best character actresses of our time.
David Oyelowo - Who? Just jesting, but that's the question people are going to ask in two decades from now. However, he could prove me wrong. He simply needs to appear in more high-profile movies. I mean, Alexander Knox isn't included here and he played Woodrow Wilson in a big-budget, high-profile movie in the '40s.
Julianne Moore - I am going to choose to believe that Dexter was thinking of James Bond and accidentally put Roger down instead of Julianne when typing down this list. (I'm surprised they forgot Demi Moore, too. Not because she's necessarily good, but her fame in the '90s was the ultimate movie star ideal.)
Tina Fey - She's a TV star, not a movie star. Love her, though.

Ultimately, I could think of a few that could (or should have been) included here, but ultimately, this was a really good and arduous list. The makers should be proud of themselves. Thinking retrospectively is going to be a pain in the butt, but I'm more focused on right now.

I think my most shocking suggestion for inclusion, though, would have to be Lindsay Lohan. I mean, there's a reason why her downfall was such a tragedy.

Fair enough. And yeah, guilty as charged. Can't wait to see the new Guardians.
Probably right about Saldana and Oyelowo. Probably a few names I should've remembered, but my arthouse/foreign film knowledge is a bit lacking, especially for more recent films.

For Lohan, she was definitely great when she was great, but I need a little more evidence. I'm sure she's done some great stuff, and she's already kind of an icon, but aside from Mean Girls I can't think of another great Lohan performance off the top of my head (and I am of the minority that likes the movie but finds it ever-so-slightly overrated). I do like this list as a whole, though.

The Parent Trap and Freaky Friday are two examples. Both are remakes - the former had Hayley Mills and the latter had Jodie Foster - and she was actually better than both of them. Meryl Streep, Lily Tomlin, and Robert Altman praised her performance in A Prairie Home Companion; I still haven't seen it. She was pretty good in Georgia Rule and Jane Fonda praised her. I haven't seen Herbie: Fully Loaded in a long, long while, but she's a highlight. Really, 1998-2006 were prime Lohan years. I honestly think she could have been the best actress of her generation.

Wasn't Freaky Friday with Jamie Lee Curtis? And yeah, as an actress she's great. I guess the list is judging more the strength of the actor vs. the strength of their filmography.

Jodie Foster had the Lindsay Lohan role in the original '76 movie.

I copy-pasted from my source below:
http://www.varrak.ee/files/2/5597
Roger Moore is included, Julianne Moore is not, though I also think it should be the other way around even if you limit it to her pre-2007 work (Short Cuts, Safe, Boogie Nights, The Hours, Magnolia, The End of the Affair, An Ideal Husband, Far from Heaven)
