R.I.P. Emmanuelle Riva (1927-2017)

Emmanuelle Riva, an actress who gave phenomenal performances in Alain Resnais' Hiroshima mon amour and Michael Haneke's Amour, has passed away.

She also happens to be one of the oldest Oscar nominees in history. She was nominated for Amour.

Other famous films she's appeared in include Gillo Pontecorvo's Kapo, Jean-Pierre Melville's Leon Morin, Priest, Georges Franju's Therese Desqueyroux, and Krzysztof Kieslowski's Three Colors: Blue.

All I can say is that once you've seen Hiroshima mon amour, you can never forget Emmanulle Riva.
