Good music documentaries?
Re: Good music documentaries?
Not really into them that much but I love A Tribe Called Quest's documentary, Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of a Tribe Called Quest from 2011.

"Shut Up and Play the Hits" is a fantastic documentary showing the end of LCD Soundsystem, James Murphy's various life philosophies, and their final concert at Madison Square Garden.
Also, it's not a documentary, but Talking Heads' film "Stop Making Sense" is an essential concert film.

If I had to choose one I would pick probably The Devil and Daniel Johnston.
My favorite concert movie is Stop Making Sense .

This is Spinal Tap or Gimme Shelter (1970).

The Classic Albums series is a great collection of documentaries about the recording of classic rock albums.
Some others:
Twenty Feet from Stardom: about backing vocalists on famous songs like Gimme Shelter etc.
This Is It: Michael Jackson's last rehearsals
Queen: Days of Our Lives
ABBA: The Movie
When Björk Met Attenborough
Phil Ochs: There But for Fortune
Woodstock

De gustibus et coloribus non est disputandum.
