As every single publication pumps out specials about 1968, Rock & Folk decided to do a New Wave for apparently no reason whatsoever, with the mandatory top 100 albums being there. So there you go (despite what the title of the magazine states, it goes beyond 1984).

I dunno, no New Order or Depeche Mode is fishy.

And Movement too, but they put it in 1980 for whatever reason, and I didn't fix it.StevieFan13 wrote:Wait! They have Speak and Spell. Never mind.

The Pretenders are missing.
De gustibus et coloribus non est disputandum.
Re: Rock & Folk New Wave special - 100 landmark albums (2017)
It's funny but when I think about the Pretenders, I associate them more with jangle pop than I do new wave, even though I know that Wikipedia and RYM do tag them as new wave. Then again, same goes for the Smiths, and they're there, so I don't know.bonnielaurel wrote:The Pretenders are missing.
French critics tend to usually be rather fond of the Pretenders, so I don't think that would be an intentional indirect diss directed at them. That would be very surprising.
