I've like heard of a lot of these albums.

Same here. That's 50 amazing albums you've never heard if you're only listening to the music on mainstream radio, I guess. Oh well, that'll be more votes for Serge Gainsbourg, Laura Nyro, Mobb Deep and A Tribe Called Quest (among others), which I'm totally OK with.bootsy wrote:I've like heard of a lot of these albums.

I raised my eyebrows too at some of these choices, but it's a daily newspaper so after a little thought I think they make sense. Yes the readers probably mostly listen to mainstream music. This is a good start to check out other music.

You've also got to remember they're British, and the Replacements are a pretty American band (it'd be like recommending the Fall to an American).Henrik wrote:I raised my eyebrows too at some of these choices, but it's a daily newspaper so after a little thought I think they make sense. I had the same reaction as everyone else when I first saw the list. But ignoring the fact that most of us know most of these albums quite well, there really are a lot of "amazing albums" here!

Yep you guys are right. These are albums we know but the mainstream probably isn't aware of a lot of these albums so I have to take that into consideration.Henrik wrote:I raised my eyebrows too at some of these choices, but it's a daily newspaper so after a little thought I think they make sense.
