They claim the list was made in 2003, but the motto of the website is "Promoting real metal online since 1995" and it definitely feels like this was made in 1995... Or even earlier than that

It says a lot that even Rolling Stone had a more diverse selection of metal albums on their list.

Of course, RS's list came fifteen years later, but even then, that's little excuse to shun almost an entire decade like Metal Rules do (or even two actually, as there's little 70s stuff there either). Don't get me wrong, the 80s are perhaps (probably) the best decade for heavy metal, but that's taking things a bit too far. This list would make for a relatively decent best metal albums of the 80s, I guess.
