200 albums, one each for the Beatles, Stones, and the Clash, zero for Blur, and spots for Creed AND Nickelback?

Maybe it's worth checking if the listeners were involved in the vote at some point? Or else, perhaps Blur wasn't that big down under.

Agreed, Nickleback and Creed are certainly bands I don't listen to. Also a lot of nu-metal. The plus side is that there are a lot of New Zealand albums and even a few Aussie classics!

No, the public could not vote for this. I listen to this station sometimes. It can be a bit on an eclectic mix of rock e.g Alanis, RATM, Beatles etc. but still one of the better stations that play new music and don't just focus on 'classic rock' only.

Yeah, clearly. The cooler or more obscure albums here make up for Limp Bizkit and their ilk. I don't know why I hit upon Blur in particular (maybe cuz Oasis pops up a few times? But there's no Pulp either). I do like all the Foo Fighters albums.

Saying Human Clay is better than OK Computer should be a hate crime.

He he, I didn't click on it myself. I think I unfortunately got used to not seeing Blur and Pulp, or other Britpop acts for that matter, get as much recognition as Oasis in a lot of (non-British, perhaps?) rock publications or lists. Always felt it was unfair, but that's another debate.

Any proof about how they made the list or just intuition?

Well I know that sometimes you can vote for their lists and sometimes you can't. All I can say is that this was one of the times that it wasn't open to public voting.

I agree with both of you. Blur was big here and to a lesser extent Pulp. The Blur tracks that still get a lot of airplay are: Song 2, Coffee And TV, Parklife, Country House and Boys And Girls. Apart from Common People and Disco 2000, Pulp (and the other Bripop bands) just don't seem to get played as much. I miss hearing Elastica, Suede etc. However, every so often a random Supergrass song plays, usually 'Goin' Out' I guess the same thing happened with some of the lesser Grunge bands. Can't recall the last time I heard anything by the Sceaming Trees on the radio :(

(Oh, Bittersweet Symphony still gets played but generally not much else by the Verve)
