Vulture - All 213 Beatles Songs, Ranked

Lists by single critics or musicians, published in magazines or on websites, have lower priority. The amount of such lists would be impossible to handle.
(However, priority is given to single author lists from books, very famous music critics and artists with albums or songs ranked on Acclaimed Music. Single author lists are also more likely to get priority if they are not limited to a genre or artist.)

Single critic's list, so not eligible.

And even if it was eligible, placing "Good Day Sunshine" in last place automatically renders it hopelessly flawed. It's hard to believe Bill Wyman (the veteran rock critic, not the Rolling Stone) hates the song so much that he makes a point of ranking "Dig It" directly above it in next-to-last place. Other songs ranked way too low: "Dig a Pony," "I'll Be Back," "Oh! Darling," "No Reply," "Mother Nature's Son" (all ranked below 150). Meanwhile, "Maggie Mae" (!!!) and "I Wanna Be Your Man" are in the top 100.

Few complaints about the toppermost of the poppermost, although I would remove "I'll Cry Instead" and "Lovely Rita" from the top 40 in favor of "A Hard Day's Night" (#41) and "In My Life" (#42?!?!?).

Revolution 9 doesn't deserve to be that high

And how is their cover of Money (That's What I Want) considered good enough to come ahead of While My Guitar Gently Weeps? I mean, it's good, but not one of their very best (and not better than Barrett Strong's, honestly).
