ThoughtCo - 100 Greatest Rap Songs of All Time (2017)

OK, so I normally wouldn't include a single-critic list from a non-genre-based website...BUT the original About.com rap song list (ThoughtCo is the updated About.com list) is included in the AM database, so I don't know why it is and the updated version isn't. (And, for that matter, why the other specialized sections of that site don't count - the critics are "experts" and each area is presented as its own little sub-website).

If there's any way I can finally get Fight the Power into the top 100 where it belongs, I'll do it.

That's a very against the grain list. I like it for being a little bit different and not predictable.

Certainly less predictable than Rolling Stone's list (but anything's less predictable than Rolling Stone, except maybe NME). Could've used more Tribe and Wu (or maybe it's a perfect amount, I dunno I just like Tribe and Wu), but I'm glad to see Dear Mama that high up.

I don't know how the about.com list got added to AM. I know it will upset bootsy but it should be removed.

Man, that's a bummer. Probably a pain to remove it, too. Will that bump songs down? I don't know if it's worth the trouble. Hip-hop needs reps!

It's a little disappointing but I'm cool with it. You are the judge jury and sometimes executioner Henrik.
