So, apparently the decade lists dry up after the '70s, but then they jump forward right to the present decade and the decade before.
Chart success was a factor, but it also looks like quality and impact were major factors.
No. 31: Lee Brice, "I Drive Your Truck"
No. 30: Kenny Chesney, "There Goes My Life"
No. 29: Alan Jackson (Feat. Jimmy Buffett), "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere"
No. 28: Zac Brown Band, "Chicken Fried"
No. 27: Blake Shelton, "Austin"
No. 26: Big & Rich, "Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)"
No. 25: Maddie & Tae, "Girl In a Country Song"
No. 24: Carrie Underwood, "Jesus Take the Wheel"
No. 23: Miranda Lambert, "Gunpowder and Lead"
No. 22: Kenny Chesney (Feat. Grace Potter), "You and Tequila"
No. 21: Soggy Bottom Boys, "Man of Constant Sorrow"
No. 20: Sugarland, "Stay"
No. 19: Rascal Flatts, "Bless the Broken Road"
No. 18: The Band Perry, "If I Die Young"
No. 17: Darius Rucker, "Wagon Wheel"
No. 16: Miranda Lambert, "Over You"
No. 15: Dixie Chicks, "Goodbye Earl"
No. 14: Eric Church, "Springsteen"
No. 13: Lady Antebellum, "Need You Now"
No. 12: Brad Paisley (Feat. Alison Krauss), "Whiskey Lullaby"
No. 11: Kid Rock (Feat. Sheryl Crow), "Picture"
No. 10: Taylor Swift, "Love Story"
No. 9: Florida Georgia Line, "Cruise"
No. 8: Gretchen Wilson, "Redneck Woman"
No. 7: Carrie Underwood, "Before He Cheats"
No. 6: Little Big Town, "Girl Crush"
No. 5: Lee Ann Womack, "I Hope You Dance"
No. 4: Tim McGraw, "Live Like You Were Dying"
No. 3: Jamey Johnson, "In Color"
No. 2: Alan Jackson, "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)"
No. 1: Miranda Lambert, "The House That Built Me"
Some great, some less so. I may lose credibility for saying this, but I adore Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy). Also, switch out Girl Crush with Follow Your Arrow by Kacey Musgraves and it'd be perfect.

I mean the oldest songs..it seems the main criteria was to be on the Billboard country charts, I hope it doesn't.StevieFan13 wrote:I guess "Hurt" couldn't melt their stone-cold hearts.panam wrote:Of the century..but no Johnny Cash and does Kid Rock. Weird.
