A lot of their books are available on Google Books, so I used it to browse them. I've creamed them all out down to 4 books in particular that are built around (or mostly built around) recommended albums, and which I just managed to find in electronic format. Ironically enough, all of these lists are once again for heavy metal, hard rock and punk... I hoped for a few more varied selections but even though many of their books probably feature selected discographies at the end, I wasn't going to buy all their catalog to check out (some of their books, especially those about reggae, seem pretty fantastic though).

Note: the author himself claims to be of the generation who discovered hard rock in the 1980s and is obsessed with Iron Maiden (which he considered the greatest hard rock/metal act of all time), hence the fact that the selection is very 1980s-oriented and Iron Maiden heavy in the middle. It's divided between the main list (An Ide'hard discotheque), the second orders (Also of interest) and the live albums (Show beasts, although there are a few live albums in the main selection).

Now, that's a classic and rootsier top 100 but with a bunch of second orders, under the title "If you like that, you will like:" and then "By the same artist:" and "By other artists:". There are overlaps, and it sometimes goes away from hard and heavy (which is in my opinion refreshing).
